STATEMENT BY THE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP FORUM (NLF)

16 November, 2016

TO BE READ FROM ALL AFM OF SA PULPITS

Based on the expository sermon of the President of the AFM of South Africa from Ezekiel 22 at the 51st NLF meeting, the following striking parallels were drawn between conditions that gave rise to the Babylonian captivity and prevailing conditions in South Africa today. These conditions then and now were captured into three categories, namely, the loss of the true conception of God, the loss of respect for elders and parents as well as lawlessness. The loss of the true conception of God in South Africa finds expression in the promulgation of laws that undermines the authority of the Bible and sanctity of life such as abortion on demand and same sex marriages. The laws in South Africa, that regulate the parental discipline of children and the age at which pregnancy can be terminated by the children without the consent of parents, are some of the examples of the loss of respect for elders and parents. Many of our country’s private, public and government institutions are in the hands of people who have no regard for the responsibilities of the offices that they occupy and are abusing their positions for the advancement of their private interests to the detriment of the poor. Lawlessness finds expression in corruption in both public and private space. The apparent inability to protect citizens from acts of criminality, the exploitation of the vulnerable and poor can also be cited as other examples. In the light of the above the NLF calls on all our members to:  stand up and build the wall of morality which has been broken down and  stand in the gap by declaring an indefinite period of prayer for our nation and beloved country. May it be that God will not say against the AFM that He sought for a person to build up the wall and stand in the gap but He would not find any. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ National Office Bearers / Nasionale Ampsdraers: President: Pastor M.G Mahlobo Deputy / Vise President: Dr. J.J.
