To recognize the next generation of designers and professional leaders as they contribute, develop, and refine their skills in the workplace.

ACTIVISM AWARD

To recognize local emerging leaders who are influencing a sustainable future of the profession by making architecture/interior design accessible and relevant to the public while both educating and learning from the broader community.

EMERGING ARCHITECT AWARD NOMINATION

The purpose of the Emerging Architect Award is to recognize excellence in ability and exceptional contributions by Young Architect and Associate Members (unlicensed or licensed less than 10 years). The award may be given for exceptional work in a specific area of architectural practice or for general excellence in a wide range of architectural activities. The award is intended to recognize accomplishment in areas including design, management, technology, and professional service.

Nominee must be a member of AIA Cleveland as of April 1st, 2024, and they must be licensed less than ten years or pursuing licensure as an associate member.

Application to include:

- Concise statement summarizing nominee’s achievements

- List of signification projects or initiatives that are considered notable in the nominee’s career (See below)

- List of awards, honors, and recognition received for work

- Offices or committee roles in architectural or civic organizations that the nominee has held

- Letter of nomination/reference

- Headshot of applicant in jpg format

Signification Project / Initiatives Information

- Submit 2-3 signification projects or initiatives

- For each project, submit a collection of drawings, photographs, or other graphics

- Include data such as Project Name, Location, Completion Year, Client, Architect of Record

- Provide a statement approximately 100 words in length identifying function, program, and nominee’s specific role and responsibilities in the completion of the project.

- Submission should be a single pdf file

- No more than 10 pages in length (not including nomination form)

- Include the nomination form (page 1 of this document )

ACTIVISM AWARD NOMINATION

The purpose of the Activism Award is to honor a young architect or associate member that is participating in AIA Cleveland and our local community as it pertains to enhancing and representing the Architecture profession. We will consider the candidate’s volunteering and/or community involvement in the Northeast Ohio Area; leadership skills; advocacy for the professional practice of architecture, planning, and design.

Nominee must be a member of AIA Cleveland as of April 1st, 2024, and they must be licensed less than ten years or pursuing licensure as an associate member.

Application to include:

- Concise statement summarizing nominee’s achievements

- List of notable community volunteering activities (See below)

- List of awards, honors, and recognition received

- Offices or committee roles in community organizations that the nominee has held

- Letter of nomination/reference

- Headshot of applicant in jpg format

Notable Volunteering Activity Information

- Submit notable volunteering activities or accomplishments by the nominee

- For each activity submit a narrative statement, photographs, or other graphics necessary to describe the activity

- Statements should include program information and nominee’s specific role and responsibilities in the completion of the activity
