ESTHER SPIJKER (NETHERLANDS) TESTIMONIAL Actually I only need one word to describe my time in SOLS 24/7 Malaysia: awesome! I had a wonderful internship for 8 months in the Human Resources department.
As an intern in SOLS you get a lot of responsibilities and freedom to take on tasks, which really helps you to develop on a personal and professional level. I learned so much from all the people around me in so many ways. I enjoyed the tasks and duties as an HR intern a lot. Especially welcoming new people and doing interviews. One day you interview someone over Skype on the other side of the world, and a few weeks later you meet them in person and introduce them to the team.
The team is amazing, everybody is so motivated and the interaction between all these people from dierent parts of the world is such a cool experience. I loved living in the HQ and having so many people around me all the time. Watching movies after work hours, going to the city center together or going for a roti at the mamak.
Because you are 24/7 around each other, you become close to people very quickly and after a short time you already consider them as good friends. Sometimes we regard the team as one big family, and actually that is really what it feels like. Everybody is so friendly and open minded; you will never feel alone.
Beside all of that, I really fell in love with Malaysia. There is so much diversity in culture and a lot of delicious food. It is such a beautiful country with so much to see; big cities, beautiful islands and jungles. Such a contrast to my home country. I’m back in The Netherlands now for three weeks, and I really miss my SOLS collegues and Malaysia. But it is cool that I can truly say that I have friends all over the world.
