In my art throughout this year I’ve focused on topics of abstract, warped images and surrealism. I’ve worked with a variety of several portraits and snaps of faces, making my main topic to be people. In my fascination with symbolism I have used tarot, humanization of objects and distortion to represent the ideas of surrealism. I’ve used the inspiration from artists like Lee K. and James Tissot to develop my own ideas and encourage display of my experiments. As well as abstract representations I’ve also focused on makeup, fashion and alternative styling. In this I hope to research into ideas of selfexpression and individuality.

I have been photographing, using oil paint/watercolours, chalk and pencils to address all my topics. I experimented with aesthetics through shape and colour, that being demonstrated in my art exam piece where i used shapes

and subtle contrast to show opposition and alternation.
Along with self-expression I’ve used queer or atypical styles of art and style, hoping to find a way to demonstrate both surrealism and aesthetic arrangements.
As a tool I’ve been using digital painting for planning and thumbnails - specifically Procreate as an app on my Ipad Pro to sketch ideas or leave brief notes regarding projects and designs. Later on paper I added definition through tone and lighting - later following up with details such as highlighting and texture.
As a main overall topic I used people and their differences, using my friends and various celebrities or stylists to study features, colours and convivial of personal ideas. Through my art studies I watched different poses, colour palettes and angles and tried to express humanity and culture by showing each person’s styling in separate photo shoots.
