WHAT IS THE ALETO FOUNDATION? “For most people, social mobility is like personal hygiene. It’s a good thing – but you take it for granted. They’re only right if things are viewed exclusively through the CSR lens of social justice. However, social mobility also delivers competitive advantage. Accessing deep untapped pools of top talent is self-evidently better than the alternative – winners have talent. Losers don’t.
ALETO = A LEgacy for TOmorrow
The Aleto Foundation invests social capital into future leaders from tough reality backgrounds unleashing their talent to compete with their privileged peers. By “sharing success with tomorrow’s leaders” we deliver social justice and talented young people eager to change the world for good.”
SIR KENNETH OLISA, OBE CHAIR, ALETO FOUNDATION

Young people from tough reality backgrounds are disadvantaged when they enter the workforce by lack of access to and knowledge of workplace norms, behaviours and expectations – social capital. For others, these are inculcated at an early age from family, social and school connections. We bridge that gap by eliminating the gap and boosting our alumni’s ability to achieve their potential as FUTURE LEADERS

SUCCESS STORIES
LEANNE ARMITAGE MEDICAL STUDENT, FOUNDER & CEO UK QUEEN’S YOUNG LEADER
SHARON ANYANWU FINANCE ANALYST JP MORGAN CHASE & CO
UMARU TARAWALLY MECHANICAL ENGINEER OPTICAL METROLOGY SERVICES
The Aleto Foundation has helped to change my life. I left the programme inspired and energised, determined to make a difference and give back. I have now set up my own foundation and medical group called Leanne’s amazing medics for under privileged students.
I was inspired by the great leaders I met at that programme. It motivated me to aim high and apply for positions which I previously believed were out of my reach. I went on to intern at Goldman Sachs and I am now currently on the JP Morgan graduate programme.
The Aleto Foundation really opened my eyes to many opportunities that could be available to me. Since the programme I have gone on to build a successful career as an actuary. Recently, I implemented and designed new financial software for my current company. 6

ALETO ALUMNI Zulum participated in the programme in 2016: “The Aleto Foundation changes lives. My life has been changed which has had a knock on impact to the other young people that I now mentor.
