‘ From the sandy beaches of Sri Lanka to the hustle and bustle of New York, we like to work around the world. ‘Sales under the Sun’…if you will. ’

'We know how to party and we know how to smash it in Sales. I didn’t ever think I was going to get the opportunity to work for a company as good as these guys'

e like to t r a v e l . We think it’s an essential p a r t of the business calendar, not just because it allows our hardworking team a well-deserved rest, but furthermore because it provides them with the opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed and informal environment. That’s important to us. We believe that a solid friendship is the foundation of a successful working relationship. Here are some of the fantastic trips we rounded off last year with as well as those we have coming up in 2020: W

SRI LANKA - MEDA GEDARA !

First up, Sri Lanka! Back in November we took 12 of our team to Sri Lanka to stay at the luxury Meda Gedara Resort, described online as ‘the most beautiful villa in Sri Lanka’. Vik and Paul were some of the lucky new additions to the team that qualified for the trip after high-rolling the country in sales and growing their team to promote the highest number of first gen. Leaders - huge congratulations to you both! Vik describes how ‘coming from the background that I do, I’ve not really had the opportunity to do much travelling, certainly not independently, so it really was the trip of a lifetime’. The itinerary was pretty jam-packed, and with just 4 days in total, the guys really made the most of it. They swam with turtles, went snorkelling, visited some awe-inspiring temples, went on lagoon rides - you name it, they did it! And we have to mention the food! The team were treated to a varied cuisine of traditional Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood and of course, dessert: Cardamom puddings, pistachio creme brûlée, local fruits…. The chef himself is a man called Roshan, who after growing up just 15 minutes away from where the villa is situated, sailed the world gathering recipes and rich experiences to bring back home and inspire the menu. ‘The food was absolutely incredible, truly mind-blowing!’ (Paul).

The trip wasn’t just about activities and dining, it was also a masterclass in how to operate a business! The staff at the resort were phenomenal; their attention to detail, their level of service and the manner in which they worked as a team was really inspiring and an unexpected take away from the trip. When you’re out of your ‘normal’ context and away from home, you start to see things from a different perspective. You have the opportunity to learn about people’s backgrounds and experiences in an informal setting which is extremely useful. Vik was one of the lucky few to go to Sri Lanka, and also the youngest! He tells us how ‘I think the scariest thing was feeling like the youngest person out there and slightly daunted by that. I was looking around at the Owners who are mainly in their 40s and I’m only 22, so that was quite a reality check, in an exciting way. What I took away from the trip was the importance of freedom in your lifestyle. That’s not something I had experienced when studying at University, and being in Sri Lanka really brought that to the surface. I was essentially earning a residual income whilst sat on the beach with a beer in my hand, so that felt pretty amazing! This is the life you can have!’.
