CEDO - Creative Ethics Defence Organisation

We are CEDO, the global creative ethics defence organisation. The talents and skills of creatives all over the world are being used as weapons by large corporations to brainwash and trick their target audiences into buying their services & products with the ideas and expectations that these services & products will make their lives better or more enjoyable. We aim to make a stop to this at a global scale. Working together as a community of creative minds is the only way we can get anywhere.

The First Things First Manifesto was the original effort to put these issues to demise. However this has needed updating once more, and we have taken it upon ourselves to make a difference. In 1964, 22 visual communicators signed the original call for our skills to be put to worthwhile use. In 2000, 33 signed the reformed call. Today, we are asking for the majority of designers across the globe to act on what we have mistakenly allowed. To take part in the redevelopment of our purpose. To end consumerism.

The branding required for an organisation defending the ethical beliefs of creatives must represent many values amongst it’s visual image. The combination of logo, type and colour will pull together all communications of print and web. The aim of creatives globally working together to make a change is illustrated in the logo being framed with the organisation’s name.

Green is worked throughout the identity to represent the growth of both the concerns and the acts against them. Black is paired with the green for legibility and contrast to white.

The first link leads the user to the Honest Things First manifesto, our organisation guidelines which require the undersigned to not complete dishonest, suggestive or any kind of creative work that would mani pulate the truth of products or services. As well as make a further effort to complete creative work for worthy causes that would benefit our way of living and the reputation of creatives globally.

This page splits our organisation’’s backbone in two subsections. The influential creators are creatives that have a big following and are well known for their practices. These people would set a good example to those who admire them.

The title displaying the words ‘Our Army’ presents the list of creatives that have signed the manifesto. Having a website that will automatically change as people submit their details makes the interactivity with the website a lot more personal, giving a stronger feel of a community.

When a user signs the manifesto, a journal is sent out to them. This journal serves as a form of documentation for each time a creative completes work for a good cause. The creative would write all of the details of the brief in each designated section of the book until it was complete. Upon completion, the creative can send the journal back to CEDO and be commended with an award. This would be a prestigious award recognisable globally and would be a fantastic addition to a CV.

The promotion of our organisation would run over printed elements as well as social networks. We would have adverts printed in creative based magazines such as Creative Review. These would push our organisation to a larger spread of people and encourage more to look into the organisation and learn more about it.
