PROJECT DESCRIPTION
O edifício sede da Associação Vila Nova Esperança será o centro social e político da Vila e abrigará atividades de capacitação técnica, artística, educativa e política, atendimento médico e odontológico, além de assembleias, reuniões e festividades locais. O projeto prevê que a sede será a segunda residência de cada morador, por isso a preocupação em torná-lo aberto e acolhedor, de forma que todos se sintam representados pela Associação. Assim, a entrada se faz por uma ampla porta no pavimento térreo que dá acesso ao saguão, que pode receber diversos usos, como reuniões, assembleias, exibição de filmes, festividades, e quaisquer outras atividades que sejam condizentes com o uso do edifício. Para dar suporte a parte desses usos e servir também como sala de aula de culinária, a cozinha está logo ao lado direito de quem entra, separada do saguão por uma porta e uma janela ampla de forma que permita o uso do balcão da cozinha pelos dois ambientes, o que é importante principalmente para aulas de culinária e para as festividades. Para garantir que possam se realizar grandes assembleias de moradores, toda a frente do saguão poderá se abrir para a rua, de forma a unir os dois espaços e abrigar um público de mais de 200 pessoas. O segundo pavimento abriga as áreas de educação e saúde, as quais têm um papel fundamental no processo de transformação social. Nele estão a sala de aula, uma sala de artes e as salas de atendimento médico e odontológico. Na cobertura do edifício está a sala de computação, que pretende garantir complementar o programa de educação e garantir inclusão digital. Também há um jardim, uma horta e uma composteira, que além de garantir conforto térmico ao edifício e uso daquele espaço, também é parte do funcionamento geral do edifício. Os resíduos orgânicos da cozinha servirão de adubo para o jardim e a horta, que proverá parte dos alimentos consumidos na sede da Associação, fechando o ciclo. Pretendemos separar o material inorgânico para que seja reaproveitado em um centro de reciclagem previsto no plano de urbanização (em desenvolvimento); o pouco que restará será recolhido pela coleta pública da prefeitura. O esgoto será devidamente encaminhado à rede da prefeitura ou ao tratamento feito de forma ecológica dentro da própria da Vila, questões que estão em estudo no plano e projeto de urbanização. O jardim vertical tem como função utilizar a fachada do edifício para aumentar a cobertura vegetal da Vila, já que há pouco espaço para arborização junto ao viário e poucas áreas livres. Até o momento foram realizadas quatro reuniões, uma para debate dos espaços e usos do edifício e outras três para apresentação e discussão do projeto. A intenção é que o edifício sirva de exemplo, tanto em questões de projeto quanto em questões de uso para outros novos edifícios da Vila, e inicie uma discussão sobre a relação de questões ambientais e arquitetura, tema de extrema importância para toda a cidade.
The headquarters building of Vila (Village) Nova Esperança Association will be the social and political center of the Village and will hold technical trainings, artistic, educational and political activities, medical and dental care, besides assemblies, meetings and local festivities. The project foresees that the headquarters will be a second home for each resident, that is why the concern to make it open and welcoming, in a way that everyone feels represented by the Association. Therefore, the entry takes place by a large door on the ground floor which gives access to the lounge, which in its turn can hold many different uses such as meetings, assemblies, movie displays, festivities, and any other activities that are consistent with the use of the building. To give support to part of these uses and also to work as a culinary classroom, the kitchen is at the right side of those who enter, separated by the lounge by a door and a large window, in a way that enables the use of the kitchen counter by the two rooms, which is especially important for the culinary classes and the festivities. To ensure that they can perform great neighborhood assemblies, the entire front of the lounge can be opened to the street, making possible the union of both areas and the accommodation of an audience of over 200 people. The second floor holds the educational and healthy areas, which have a fundamental role on the process of social transformation. On this floor are a classroom, an art room and the rooms for medical and dental care. On the rooftop of the building is the computer room, which is intended to complement the educational program and to ensure digital inclusion. There are also a garden, a vegetable garden and a compost bin, which, besides ensuring the thermal comfort of the building and use of that space, is also part of the overall operation of the building. The organic waste from the kitchen will become fertilizer for the garden and the vegetable garden, which will provide part of the food consumed at the Association headquarters, closing the cycle. The inorganic waste will be separated to be availed at a recycling center established in the urbanization plan (in development); the little left will be collected by the city hall’s public collection. The sewer will be properly sent to the public grid or to an ecological treatment done in the Village, issues that are under study in the urbanization plan and project. The vertical garden´s function is to use the facade of the building to increase the vegetation cover of the Village, as there is little space for trees along the road and few open areas. Until now there were four meetings, one to talk about the spaces and uses of the building and three others to present and discuss the project. The intention is that the building becomes an example to other new buildings in the Village in both design and in use matters, and that it launches a discussion about the relationship between environmental issues and architecture, a subject of extreme importance for the whole city.
