Initially, Farrah began Drift & Amble as a “side hustle and personal creative outlet from the commercial graphic design world.” It’s now a full-time retail shop in historic downtown Salida. CHRISTMAS MOUNTAIN LIGHTING AND PARADE OF LIGHTS

A Salida holiday event to not miss. The Parade of Lights takes place each year on the day after Thanksgiving. Festivities begin with a parade starting at Fifth and F Streets. Continuing along F to end at Riverside Park, known in December as “Holiday Park.” Join the locals and watch Tenderfoot Hill (“S’’ Mountain) illuminate with lights and fireworks to become Christmas Mountain. Caring & Sharing’s Chaffee Community Resource Center and Soup Kitchen volunteers and staff have fed housing-challenged community members, seniors, veterans, and low-income populations for over 15 years. C & S provides free hot meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 220 W. Fourth St. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Individuals may also receive free food, obtain C & S Thrift Store vouchers for essentials and propane heating assistance from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Access to CCRC resources and soup

kitchen meals is confidential, no proof of financial need is required. All are welcome. Board members would like to provide support more often during the week, but operating hours are limited due to a shortage of staffing and funds.
