Cop3 Proposal I am going to research into media blackouts and censorship

Quotes Censorship is not only practised by governments and other organizations. Individuals in a position to affect what the public hears also sometimes attempt to suppress free speech. Largely sanitised and devalued, it is too often spoon fed to the public by mainstream editors whose managers' mission is to coerce us into sharing their values. The process of creating new, democratic organs of government power is beginning, and, as never before, the greatest responsibility rests with the broadcast media. Media blackout refers to the censorship of news related to a certain topic, particularly in mass media, for any reason. Violence, bans and seizure of content are just some of the methods used to directly censor and suppress people and their ideas.
