Graduating Seniors: Keep Connected to Anchor, and Welcome to Pilot!

ll Anchors who continue their education after graduation are
eligible for Pilot Club membership through any Pilot Club, and you do not have to pay dues! In order to make this happen, we need your membership information to keep you connected to Anchor and Pilot.
Advisors and/or graduating Anchors, please go to http://tinyurl.com/Anchor-Alumni and take one minute to fill out your permanent contact information. We need your contact info!
Anchor Advisors – If you know at this point that you will not be continuing as the Anchor Club Advisor next school year, please email anchor@pilothq.org. First Anchor Leadership Summit The FIRST Anchor Leadership Summit will be held in conjunction with the Pilot International Annual Convention and Leadership Conference in New Orleans, July 10-14th. This event is for all Anchors and advisors. There are special registration rates for advisors, parents and chaperones.

We’ve got the answers to frequently asked questions below: How do I register for the Summit? How much is the cost for the Anchor Leadership Summit? The registration fee is $235. After June 1st the fee goes up to $352.50. We are offering advisors a special registration fee is $185 and for parents/chaperones it is $50. Please review the registration form to see what is included in all fees. P 2
What is included in the registration for Anchors? Everything (except pre-tour) including general leadership sessions and boot camp, business meetings and materials, breakouts, two luncheons, fun night dinner, and celebration pizza party are included. Hotel, transportation, other meals, activities and incidentals are on your own.
Take The Summit Challenge! Attention all Pilots and Anchor Boosters! Individual Florida Pilots have raised almost $5,000 so far to try and send ALL of their district anchor officers to New Orleans to attend the Anchor Leadership Summit. We loved their commitment and enthusiasm so Pilot and Anchor International are challenging all other districts to do the same! The district that brings the most Anchor district officers to New Orleans will get a $150 discount off one 2014 Anchor Leadership Summit registration fee. The Summit Internship Winners are…. Congratulations Interns! We are excited to announce the 2013 Pilot Convention and Anchor Leadership Summit Interns. Chloe Carpenter, Starkville Academy Anchor Club, MS Amanda Corrick, Lincoln Park Academy Anchor Club, FL Amanda Ortiz, John Carroll High School Anchor Club, FL Emily Wilkerson, Mineola High School Anchor Club, TX Thanks to a generous donation by an individual Pilot, these four interns will have their registration fee paid to attend convention. They will travel to New Orleans in July to work as members of the convention and summit staff and participate in a week of leadership development. They will take back lots of ideas and learning to share with their Anchor club members. Stay tuned to learn more about these outstanding leaders and their activities in upcoming issues.

Anchors Care More: Club News Florida District
The FL District Anchor Convention was a great time by all who attended. We had about 260 Anchors with 45 Pilots/Advisors & Chaperones in attendance for the weekend. Business was held as usual along with the election and installation of the new Officers. Our District Project this year was stuffing about 1500 Christmas Stockings full of toys, 720 Easter Eggs with candy & treats and 720 Halloween Goody bags with treats and candy to be donated to Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee www.gktw.org. These items will be given to the families staying at the village for their Fantasy Vacation because of their child’s life threatening illness.

Anchor Club of Astronaut High School in Titusville, FL at FL District Anchor Convention where the theme was "Anchored At Sea" Convention was held at The Worldgate Resort in Kissimmee, Florida on March 2-3, 2013. The club all dressed up for the Saturday night installation banquet for the 2013-14 District Officers.

The Trinity Catholic High School Anchor Club in Ocala held their 5th Annual Anchor Runway on April 7th. Gently used Prom dresses were modeled by Anchors and auctioned off during the event. Over $800 was raised during the live auction with prices starting as low as $15 per dress and then they also sold more dresses in the boutique. This was a fundraiser for the Scleroderma Foundation. The Miami Springs Senior High Anchor Club, sponsored by the Pilot Club of Miami, spent a busy Saturday on March 23rd, Performing Brainminders' Puppet Shows at The Miami Brain Fair, sponsored by the University of Miami School of Medicine and the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. They then conducted an "Earth Hour" celebration at the Miami Springs Gazebo. At the request of the 2012 Anchor Club, our community now participates in this largest environmental event on the planet, joining 7,000 cities in over 150 countries.
