Letter from the LTG
Hello there Key Clubber!
Wow, I can't believe it's already October! To reflect on September, I am so proud of the amount of people who came to my September DCM and I really hope it was helpful! There, I was able to explain the three different projects: the governor's project, the district project, and the divisional project. I was able to collect and record more officer contact information and I successfully hosted a club visit with Chisum High School Key Club. I also started an Instagram (@tokey13and32) and website to keep all the clubs in my divisions informed and updated. I have many goals for October that I've entailed on page 16. I highly encourage y'all to apply for the YOF grant and participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions! Have a spooky month of service and stay safe! With a passion to serve, Alina Dam Lieutenant Governor of Divisions 13 and 32

The YOF Grant The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund for Key Club International held within the Kiwanis International Foundation. YOF grants can help you take action. Look around and identify the service that needs to be done in your school, community or the world. Clubs may request US$100 to US$2,000. The committee typically funds clubs that are asking for a portion of the total cost of the project, and clubs that are working with other organizations to fund and complete the project. Applications received by the Oct. 15 dead- line are reviewed by the Key Club Interna- tional YOF committee during their November meeting. Funding notifications are sentthe first week of January each year.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF For Key Clubbers, Halloween means more than spooky decorations, cool costumes and ghoulish treats. It’s a chance to save lives and have fun—for less than the cost of a bag of Halloween candy. Protect a mother and her future newborns from MNT by Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF.
It’s easy to participate. Here are five simple steps to plan your project:
1. Pick a fundraiser. Collect funds door-to-door. Dance the night away alongside vampires and werewolves. Host a “trunk-or-treat.” Enjoy an oldfashioned pumpkin pie bake-off. The ideas are endless. Click here to find a few!
2. Set your goal. Estimate what you’ll raise through your project. Then subtract your expenses. This is your fundraising goal.
3. Get supplies. Do you have everything you need to host your fundraiser? Order collection boxes at the Kiwanis Family Store. Do you need decorations, food or costumes? Consider asking for donations from local businesses or even large chain stores.
6
4. Promote your event. Check out our social media graphics and 2019 guide to promote your event online. Or make your own flier or display. Let everyone know about the upcoming event and how they can donate. And share the information with your sponsoring Kiwanis club.
5. Submit your donations. Send your donations to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, along with the donation form. If your club submits US$250 Trick-orTreat for UNICEF donations by December 31, 2019, your club will earn a banner patch. Thank you for committing to help eliminate MNT. For more information, visit TheEliminateProject.org/trickortreat, or contact campaign@theeliminateproject.org.

MEMBER RECRUITING IDEAS Use pre-made Key Club recruitment posters on the Key Club International Website! https://www.keyclub.org/resources/ recruitment-posters/ Advertise your introductory or first general meeting like crazy! Get it on the announcements, post about it on your social medias, and hang up posters around your school! Provide food and drinks (or a social!) at your first meeting. Students are hungry before/after school; incentivization is key! Piggy-backing off of incentivization, if you are struggling to get members to come to meetings, offer food! I guarantee you that students will come! To keep members involved, offer prizes for attending meetings or fulfilling hour goals per month. If your Key Club has money to spare in its account, $5 gift cards are perfect! If not, Let's face the facts. Seniors (and maybe even juniors and sophomores) have senioritis. To keep them motivated, offer Key Club cords or Key Club medals at graduation.

@tokey13and32
I recently created a website for T-O Divisions 13 and 32! I have posted my previous DCM Minutes and PowerPoints (August and September 2019), important links, and all contact information. I will continue to update this throughout the year, so I recommend checking it about every month. The website is still pretty "vanilla" since I just created it, but if you have any suggestions as to what should belong on the website, please feel free to reach out to me! Follow the T-O Key Club Divisions 13 and 32 Instagram at @tokey13and32. If you don't have Instagram, don't fret! You can always search up www.instagram.com/ tokey13and32 to access the profile. I have sent out many reminders and informative posts about events, projects, etc., so I really recommend checking it out. Starting October, I will try to post 3-4 times a week! I'm so excited for y'all to see the posts I have planned for October. Even if you do not have Instagram, I suggest checking the profile at least 2 times a week. Anything important that is uploaded on the Instagram will also be relayed through the GroupMe. 21
