ABOUT
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, selforganized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations).
About TED TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California, with simulcast in Palm Springs; TEDGlobal is held each year in Oxford, UK. TED’s media initiatives include TED. com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world; and the TEDFellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

ABOUT
TEDxBucharest Driven by meaning In 2009, the international TED community received some great news: from now on TEDsters all over the world will be able to step away from their computers and bring the online TED experience live, on stage, by attending their local events. Bucharest made no exception, so TED fans from this region have been welcome since to TEDxBucharest – your local TED event. We do this because we are avid TED fans and because we are hooked on ideas and projects that bring value to our local community. Today we celebrate the fourth edition of TEDxBucharest, an event that has inspired and motivated thousands of people so far, creating bridges between businesses, being the starting point for numerous projects and collaborations between smart, motivated people that want to bring positive change to their community. And this year we’ll make no exception: TEDxBucharest has set up just the right recipe for success containing the right speakers, guests, atmosphere and space to get you in that special state of creativity, inspiration and motivation that keeps driving all of us forward. This year, we wanted to challenge you by asking “What drives you?” Is it money, fame or recognition? Or maybe it’s something deeper like the value you bring into your local community or something like creating impact and positive change. What meaning do you give to your existence? And what keeps you going when all odds are against you? We figured that TEDsters are the most suitable community of people that can guide us towards a brilliant answer.

Irina Bogdan, Tudor Cosmatu & Andrei Raducanu All of them graduates of “Ion Mincu University” and of the Dessau Institute of Arhitecture, they founded the T_A_I group (Technology_Architecture_Innovation), connected by their common interest in digital design and in sharing different sofware and programming knowledge. They now aim at sharing their digital tools and knowledge to the world through national and international trainings and workshops on parametric design and generative architecture. Parametric design represents a huge leap in the quality of architecture since it is no longer bounded by tools anymore, it designs and creates its’ own tools. And it’s basically about planning and implementing change in the world around. To the human enterprise of design, parametric systems bring fresh and needed new capabilities to explore the possibilities inherent in a design idea.

Among the artists who influienced Alexandrina’s style are PJ Harvey, Björk, Morcheeba, and, above all, Tori Amos, with whom she believes she has in common the joy of playing the piano and the sensitivity of her lyrics, which may at times seem senseless.
