The sound of Von Strantz is described simply as folk n’ roll, akin to the tradition of Over the Rhine and the sacredness of The Vespers; the instrumentals stir the soul much like Mumford and Sons. Utilizing a variety of instruments such as the mandolin, violin, bass, and cello, Von Strantz unites harmonies strung together by commanding and soulful lyrics. Von Strantz is storytellers, an ebb and flow of two different musicians, exploring the dark and emerging with hope. INTRO TO WORDPRESS Wednesday, February 10, 6:00–8:30 pm Computer Classroom

Presented by Nicole Etcheson Saturday, February 28 • 2:00 pm Meeting Room A Hoosiers like to think that our greatest president derived his greatness from his youth growing up in Indiana. In fact, Abraham Lincoln rejected many of the values of 19th century Indiana. Indiana was a Democratic state; Lincoln was a Whig. Indiana was a black law state, with legal discriminations against African Americans; Lincoln’s policies as president would end the black laws. Lincoln left Indiana at age 21 and like many a youth, he chose a path for his adult life that differed from his childhood.
