ALPFA is proud to unveil the 2025 ALPFA Awards—designed to spotlight the extraordinary achievements of the leaders within our community who are driving meaningful, lasting change.
The ALPFA Awards reflect the values and vision that define leadership in our community. This year, we have added clear criteria to all award categories to ensure that each honoree is celebrated for their accomplishments and enduring influence within ALPFA and across the broader Latino professional sphere.

Individual Awards
Lifetime Achievement Award
OVERVIEW:
Recognizes an individual with a long-standing commitment to the Latinx community. This award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, mentorship, and measurable impact in their field and beyond. Recipients have dedicated years of service to empowering Latinx professionals, influencing policy changes, and fostering growth within the community.
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Extensive (20+ years) professional experience with a demonstrated history of leadership.
z Active mentorship and advocacy for Latinx professionals.
z Proven impact through organizational change, policy influence, or strategic initiatives.
z Significant contributions to nonprofit, community, or corporate sectors benefiting the Latinx community.
Executive of the Year Award
OVERVIEW:
Honors an executive who has championed diversity and supported ALPFA’s mission through impactful leadership. This award recognizes individuals in senior leadership positions who have actively promoted inclusivity, driven positive change within their organization, and served as a role model for Latinx professionals.
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Holds a senior leadership role (VP, SVP, C-Suite, or equivalent).
z Proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
z Active engagement with ALPFA programs and events.
z Influences policy or investments advancing Latinx professionals.
Outstanding Service to ALPFA Award
OVERVIEW:
Recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to ALPFA’s mission. Awardees have demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and measurable impact through their involvement with ALPFA programs and initiatives. Their efforts have helped expand ALPFA’s reach and influence within the Latinx community.
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Minimum of 3 years of active involvement with ALPFA.
z Leadership in at least two ALPFA programs or initiatives.
z Contributions to mentorship, corporate partnerships, or strategic growth.
z Proven success in expanding ALPFA’s reach and engagement.
Philanthropist of the Year Award
OVERVIEW:
Recognizes an individual who exemplifies excellence in philanthropy through financial contributions, leadership, and sustained support for Latinx-focused initiatives. This award honors those who have made a meaningful impact through charitable efforts, nonprofit engagement, and financial investments that promote Latinx advancement.
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Demonstrated commitment to philanthropy with significant financial contributions.
z Measurable impact benefiting Latinx professionals or students.
z Active involvement in nonprofit leadership or community initiatives.
z Strategic efforts advancing Latinx education, leadership, or economic mobility.
PRIDE Award
OVERVIEW:
Honors individuals or partners who have been champions of LGBTQ+ inclusion within the Latinx community and their organizations. This award acknowledges those who have taken a leading role in advocating for LGBTQ+ representation, mentorship, and workplace inclusivity, driving meaningful change in their industry.
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Led or implemented major LGBTQ+ inclusion initiatives.
z Provided mentorship or advocacy for LGBTQ+ Latinx professionals.
z Influenced workplace policies fostering diversity and inclusion.
z Active engagement in ALPFA or similar networks promoting equity.
Veteran of the Year Award
OVERVIEW:
Recognizes a Latino/a U.S. veteran who has demonstrated leadership, resilience, and impact in both military and post-military careers. This award honors veterans who have successfully transitioned to civilian leadership roles, served as mentors to fellow veterans, and contributed to initiatives that support the Latinx veteran community.
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Honorably discharged U.S. military veteran.
z Proven leadership and career success post-military.
z Active mentorship or advocacy for Latino/a veterans.
z Contributions to veteran programs, policy initiatives, or community support efforts.
Daniel Zamora Student of the Year Award
OVERVIEW:
The Daniel Zamora Student of the Year Award is awarded to an undergraduate student who:
MINIMUM CRITERIA:
z Shows an extraordinary balance between academics and serving the community
z Actively seeks to assist professional and student chapters meet target goals by devoting free time to the chapters.
z Is a role model to the student membership
z Is an active, paid student member in good standing with at least one year of involvement as a student officer
z Is considered an ideal candidate for transition to the Professional Board
z Holds a minimum GPA of 3.0

Professional Chapter Award Categories and Criteria
ALPFA’s Professional Chapter Awards recognize outstanding chapters that exemplify leadership, innovation, sustainability, and impact within their communities and professional networks. These awards celebrate chapters committed to long-term growth, engagement, and alignment with ALPFA’s mission.
Developing Chapter of the Year Award
Recognizes a professional chapter that has made significant strides in building a sustainably growing chapter by fostering leadership development, financial sustainability, and long-term impact.
CRITERIA:
z Measurable growth in membership, engagement, and event participation over the past year.
z Implementation of financial planning and sustainability strategies to ensure long-term viability.
z Earned revenue between $10K and $35K in the previous calendar year, that supports member programming and chapter growth.
z Development of a structured board and volunteer leadership pipeline for succession planning.
z Alignment with ALPFA’s long-term vision for empowering Latino professionals.
Emerging Chapter of the Year Award
Recognizes a chapter that has made notable advancements in executing strategic partnerships and strengthening relationships within and beyond its membership base and community.
CRITERIA:
z Establishing and expanding partnerships with corporate sponsors, universities, and nonprofits.
z Developing meaningful engagement opportunities for members, including mentorship and career advancement initiatives.
z Expanding revenue performance between $35K and $75K in the previous calendar year, that supports member programming and chapter sustainability.
z Increasing the chapter’s visibility and brand within their local community and ALPFA’s broader network.
z Implementing structured leadership development initiatives that empower the next generation of ALPFA leaders.
Leading Chapter of the Year Award
Awarded to a high-performing chapter demonstrating operational excellence, financial sustainability, and undeniable impact.
CRITERIA:
z Excellence in governance, financial oversight, and operational efficiency.
z Significant revenue performance, at over $75K in the previous calendar year, that supports member programming and chapter sustainability.
z Demonstrated impact through high-quality programming and membership engagement.
z A model chapter that serves as an example for others in the ALPFA network.
z Implementing structured leadership development initiatives that empower the next generation of ALPFA leaders.
Innovative
Chapter Award
Recognizes a chapter introducing creative solutions, strategic partnerships, and innovative programming that drive impact and engagement.
CRITERIA:
z Development of new and original programs that address member needs in unique ways.
z Creative use of technology, partnerships, and engagement strategies to drive impact.
z Demonstrated ability to pivot and adapt to challenges while maintaining mission alignment.
z Strong, measurable results showing the success and sustainability of the innovation.
Community Impact Award
Recognizes a chapter that has made a measurable and lasting impact on professional and community development. This award highlights volunteer engagement, leadership development, and the chapter’s role in fostering a thriving community.
CRITERIA:
z Implementation of programs and initiatives that directly benefit members and the local community.
z Demonstrated commitment to mentorship, volunteerism, and leadership development.
z Strong partnerships with corporate, nonprofit, or local government organizations to amplify impact.
z Measurable growth in membership, engagement, and event participation over the past year.
z Development of a structured board and volunteer leadership pipeline for succession planning.
Professional Chapter of the Year Award
(formerly LEAD Chapter of the Year)
Recognizes a chapter that consistently exceeds chapter performance and operations standards while successfully executing impactful programming aligned with ALPFA’s Six LEAD Pillars: Business Mastery, Professional EQ, Wealth Creation, Health and Wellness, Community Engagement, and Xtrapreneurship.
CRITERIA:
z Implementation of programming that aligns with ALPFA’s Six LEAD Pillars.
z Demonstrated programming that offers measurable impact on personal and professional growth, skill development, and career advancement.
z Evidence of sustained engagement and chapter-led educational initiatives.
z Demonstrated commitment to advancing ALPFA’s mission through structured programming.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ALL STUDENT AWARDS
To qualify for any student chapter award, a chapter must:
z Be in good standing with ALPFA National, including compliance with reporting and engagement requirements.
z Demonstrate alignment with ALPFA’s mission by providing student members leadership and professional development opportunities.
z Show measurable impact through membership growth, event execution, and student career advancement.
Regional Student Chapter of the Year
(Formerly Regional Chapter of the Year Award)
Recognizes four student chapters— one per ALPFA region—that have demonstrated a strong commitment to providing career development and leadership opportunities for their members.
CRITERIA:
z Significant growth in membership and engagement within the past academic year.
z Execution of high-quality programming that enhances student career readiness.
z Demonstrated impact on student success, such as mentorship, internship placements, or leadership development initiatives.
z Strong collaborations with professional chapters, alumni, and corporate partners to expand opportunities for members.
z Effective representation of the ALPFA brand and mission within the university and broader community.

Mission
The Women of ALPFA Awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of leaders who exemplify excellence—particularly in the areas of Technology, Emerging Leadership, and overall impact. These distinguished honors recognize the remarkable contributions of leaders within the ALPFA community and spotlight those who are shaping the future with purpose and passion.
These awards recognize leaders who inspire a culture that champions the diverse talents and accomplishments of Latinas across all levels of leadership. The Women of ALPFA Awards serve as a powerful symbol of appreciation, motivation, and momentum—encouraging continued growth and elevating recipients on a path toward national recognition among Latinas to Watch, Rising Stars, and the Most Powerful Latinas.
General Eligibility Information:
All Women of ALPFA Awards require 20+ years of career experience, with the exception of the WOA Allyship Award and the Emerging Leader Award, which have separate eligibility criteria.
NEW! Allyship Award
The Women of ALPFA Allyship Award honors an individual, regardless of ethnicity or background, who has demonstrated exceptional allyship in advancing the mission and vision of Women of ALPFA. This award recognizes a dedicated advocate for Latina empowerment who has made a measurable impact through mentorship, sponsorship, and support of Latinas within their organization and in the broader community. The recipient embodies the spirit of inclusion by championing initiatives that promote Latina leadership, visibility, and advancement in meaningful ways.
AWARD CRITERIA:
z Candidates must demonstrate a consistent and impactful track record of supporting the Women of ALPFA mission through mentorship, sponsorship, advocacy, or partnership.
z Nominees should show a strong commitment to advancing Latina leadership both within their organization and in the broader community.
z Nominees must provide evidence of measurable impact — such as supporting Latinas in securing promotions, expanding professional networks, or advancing into leadership positions.
Latina In Technology
The Latina in Technology Award stands as a beacon of recognition and celebration, spotlighting the exceptional journey and achievements of Latina professionals within the dynamic and rapidly evolving realm of technology. This award is a tribute to those who have not only excelled in their technical roles but have shattered professional, cultural, and gender barriers, paving the way for those that follow. It highlights the inspirational leadership of Latinas who serve as role models and mentors, fostering an environment where excellence in technology is not only encouraged but celebrated. Inspiring others to follow in their footsteps and contributing to the broader advancement of Latinas in Technology.
AWARD CRITERIA:
To be eligible for the Latina in Technology Award, nominees must be active members of the ALPFA community and meet the following criteria:

This award celebrates a leader who excels in their field and uplifts others, contributing to the advancement of Latinas and the broader communities she serves.
The recipient of this award embodies resilience, vision, and a deep commitment to driving positive change.

Latina Excellence Award

What sets this award apart is its focus on sustained and intentional leadership. This honor is for someone who has invested deeply in the Women of ALPFA mission— serving as a mentor, advocate, and changemaker within her organization, across local professional and student chapters, on ALPFA’s national board, and within the communities she touches.
