ALPFA AWARDS CRITERIA
Individual Professional Awards
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award recipient has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the Latinx Community over many decades. This individual has devoted countless hours to the community and has made an organizational impact through their skills, expertise, and commitment. The individual has hit the pinnacle of their career and consistently mentors Latinx professionals, serves on non-profit boards, and/or uses their personal reputation and professional capital to influence how the Latinx community is perceived and engaged with.
Executive of the Year Award
The Executive of the Year Award is presented to an individual who is career-oriented, a strong supporter within a corporate sponsor firm, and has reached a leadership position within their organization. This person has promoted diversity within Corporate America and/or the Government and has a strong personal interest in our mission. This individual has been visible at ALPFA functions and meetings and is strongly committed to ALPFA and its members.
Outstanding Service to ALPFA Award
The Outstanding Service to ALPFA Award recipient has impacted ALPFA through their commitment and loyalty to the organization in the last 3 to 5 years. This person has demonstrated leadership skills through service and has inspired other members by promoting ALPFA's mission and values within their community and at work. This honoree has demonstrated their personal commitment at a local or national level and has contributed strategic guidance and support.
Philanthropist of the Year Award
The Philanthropist of the Year Award is presented to one Latino/a individual who sets a standard of excellence as a role model and someone who leads by example in giving financial resources to specific programs/initiatives. Recognition of philanthropy is important to remind ALPFA members of the direct impact financial support can have on people's lives.
PRIDE Award
The PRIDE Award recognizes ALPFA members or partners who have been champions of diversity within the Latino community and their organizations. Awardees will be recognized for encouraging allyship, education, and mentorship to PRIDE community members at ALPFA and in their workplaces.
Veteran of the Year Award
The Veteran of the Year Award is presented to one Latino/a individual who is a US veteran and who exemplifies courage and honor. This individual will exemplify success in military service and in a postmilitary career, serving as a source of inspiration for other Latino/a veterans.
The Woman of ALPFA Award will be awarded to an individual who, over time, has enthusiastically promoted the advancement of Latinas and who personifies the qualities prized in successful professionals: leadership, vision, and character.

Woman of ALPFA Award
The Woman of ALPFA Award will be awarded to an individual who, over time, has enthusiastically promoted the advancement of Latinas and who personifies the qualities prized in successful professionals: leadership, vision, and character.
An individual who dedicates herself to achieving a high level of leadership within her organization
Devotes countless hours to the WOA program and has helped build Latina leaders and leadership roles within her local chapter, national board, and community
Consistently offers and is willing to help professional and student Latinas reach successful levels of leadership.
Shown themselves to be a visionary when looking for opportunities for Latinas
Often attends and participates in meetings/ functions to support their chapter’s WOA efforts.
Active ALPFA member in good standing
Latina Entrepreneur Award
The recipient of the award is a Latina entrepreneur that has broken professional, cultural and/or gender barriers while inspiring others to achieve personal and career excellence. Entrepreneurs are selfmotivated, risk takers that know how to network and understand that flexibility and passion are key ingredients to building a successful business. This is a woman who leverages those qualities to improve the lives of Latinas, both young and experienced.
Latina Excellence Award
It is presented to a Latina who serves as an advocate and spokesperson for the needs and talents of the Hispanic community. This awardee has broken professional, cultural and/or gender barriers while inspiring others to achieve personal and career excellence. The recipient of the award is a woman who leverages her power and positive influence to improve the lives of Latinas, both young and experienced.
Latina in Technology
This award is presented to a Latina working in the Technology field or industry who is breaking professional, cultural and gender barriers while inspiring others to achieve personal and career excellence. This woman also serves as an advocate and spokesperson for the needs and talents of the Hispanic community and leverages her power and positive influence to improve the lives of Latinas, both young and experienced.
Emerging Leader Award
This award is presented to an emerging Latina Leader that reflects ongoing exceptional growth, increased levels of responsibility, and sphere of impact. A Latina who is an advocate and demonstrates a commitment to community engagement and working for the greater good.
Professional Chapter Awards
Impact Awards
Community Impact Award
The Community Impact Award is given to a chapter in recognition of the significant impact made on its community. Chapters may self-nominate for this award and present a case exemplifying their community impact.
Innovative Award
The Innovative Award is presented to recognize new, original and fresh programming offerings by a chapter to its members. Chapters self-nominate for this award and present evidence of innovative programming.
L.E.A.D. Champion of the Year Award
The L.E.A.D. Champion of the Year Award is presented to recognize the delivery of programming across ALPFA’s 6 L.E.A.D. Pillars. Chapters self-nominate for this award and demonstrate alignment with the L.E.A.D. pillars.
Overall Awards
Developing Chapter of the Year
The Developing Chapter of the Year recognizes a professional chapter with revenue between $1k-$14k annually with an active membership base that has demonstrated significant growth trajectory and has shown commitment to elevation of the ALPFA brand locally.
Emerging Chapter of the Year
The Developing Chapter of the Year recognizes a professional chapter with revenue between $15k-$40k annually with an active membership base that has demonstrated consistent growth trajectory and has shown commitment to elevation of the ALPFA brand with corporate partners.
Leading Chapter of the Year
The Leading Chapter of the Year is awarded to a professional chapter with revenue of $41K or more within the calendar year and with an active membership base that has demonstrated undeniable impact in the ALPFA community and serves as an example to other Professional Chapters.
Scorecard Metrics
COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTS: chapters with less than 50% of compliance docs submitted in previous year will not be considered
REVENUE: YTD revenue and Total Revenue reported from previous fiscal year
MEMBERSHIPS: including basic (free) and paid (gold and platinum)

Individual Student Awards
Daniel Zamora Student of the Year Award
The Daniel Zamora Student of the Year Award is awarded to an undergraduate student who:
Shows an extraordinary balance between academics and serving the community
Actively seeks to assist professional and student chapters meet target goals by devoting free time to the chapters.
Is a role model to the student membership
Is an active, paid student member in good standing with at least one year of involvement as a student officer
Is considered an ideal candidate for transition to the Professional Board
Holds a minimum GPA of 3.0
Student Chapter Awards
Regional Chapter of the Year Awards
Regional Chapter of the Year Awards is given to five chapters that have shown their commitment to ALPFA’s mission and vision by providing student members with career enhancement and leadership development opportunities. Through local programming, they have excelled in their programs, member growth, and the ALPFA brand and mission representation. The regions awarded are:
Central (MT, WY, UT, CO, NM, OK, TX)
Midwest (ND, SD, NE, KS, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH)
Northeast (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA)
Southeast (AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, KY, WV, VA, DC, MD, DE)
West (WA, OR, ID, NV, CA, AZ)
National Student Chapter of the Year
National Student Chapter of the Year is awarded to the chapter that has shown its support of ALPFA’s mission and vision through demonstrated exemplary commitment to the empowerment and success of student members on its campus and beyond.
