TOP CAMPUS STYLE

As the college session kicks off, Akshay Kaushal tells you how to be the most fashion-forward girl in campus without much sweat. Draw instant inspo from these looks and get a host of compliments

NO PANTS ARE COOL You can do a lot with your long shirt. Turn it into a dress and layer it up to add some jazz. A denim shirt with a floral jacket is quite a cool look to pull off. Add to your cuteness quotient with this look. Complete your look with shiny sneakers and you are good to go. You can also try the double denim or denim on denim look that never goes out of style.

SPORTY CHIC

Give a spin to the atleisure trend by wearing a skirt and get ready to receive praises from all corners. This is what we exactly term as being sporty chic. This look maintains its feminine side despite being sporty. So if the mid-riff baring top is all bright make sure the A-line skirt is of monochrome palette. Pair up the outfit with a quirky cap and high-ankle sneakers to rock the look.

EASY BREEZY

This look is for all the demure damsels. Maxi dresses are uber-comfy and is perfect for monsoon. You can do a lot with your long locks with this look. Part your hair in the middle and keep one side open while the other in a side bun. This hairdo complements the maxi dress and exudes elegance. Pair it with your stappies and you are all set to cement your style credentials in college.

STRIPE GAME ON

High-waisted pants are back in trend and stripes are not going to die down anytime soon. This striped camisole top with white pants are just an apt pick for the vivacious girl. Team it up with studded strappy sandals and you are all set to unleash your inner chirpiness. Keep your hair open for a more refined look.

THE PHATI JEANS! Ripped jeans aka phati jeans are selling like hot cakes. Instead of teaming your distressed denims with a regular T-shirt, spruce up your look by opting for something flowy or dramatic to make your look more fun. Go for tops with high low hemline and you are all set to cast your spell on the campus. Giving that twist to the look is always exciting.

hat happens when a walk, meets an art exhibition and a poetry reading session? You get an evening of interactive sessions that transgress boundaries of mediums and communities. Organised by Khoj Studios, Open Studio Khirkee is an event, which will include a walk, an art exhibition and an evening of poetry reading. “Events of this nature are important as they help people become involved in the process of transformation and communication,” says Sitara Chowfla, curator of the event. The three-part event will have a walk through

Khirkee Village titled Decoding Khirki, which will be conducted by Polish artists Simone De Iacobis and Malgorzata Kuciewicz. They will take people around the village and talk about the architectural diversity of the place. Chowfla says, “Khirkee is one of Delhi’s many urban villages, where malls co-exist with ancient mosques and monuments. This juxtaposition makes for an interesting study.”

The event will also showcase an art exhibition by Iranian artist Hoora Soleimani and Indian-Iranian artist Soghra Khurasani. Soghra says, “I have seen Iran and India through different perspectives, and I wanted to showcase these differences.” Through her portraits, Hoora has depicted people carrying weights, but in a metaphorical sense. “Through my art, I have portrayed expressions of people bearing physical weights. But by the time you see the final sketch, these weights are removed. What stays behind are just expressions of being pressurised,” says Hoora. A poetry reading session, by Akhil Katyal, at the studio’s café, where guests can also dig into food, will conclude the event.
