HELLO AUGUST How is your summer holiday going?
may happen. Making special memories is priceless.
I am having a ball in Cyprus with my children, we’re having the most wonderful time. People ask me how difficult it was to fly and like with everything, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Don’t listen to the news, it’s really straightforward to hop on a plane once you’ve had your PCR tests. Of course the additional expense for the tests on return to the UK is annoying but you have to weigh up the benefits of being able to travel against the expense and small inconvenience of this. And one thing the last 18 months has taught me is to live life with no regrets, take risks, do everything you can because you never know what
Work is exploding, YESSSSS! Since the finalist of the forthcoming Liverpool Lifestyle Awards were announced at the end of last month, the response has been incredible with over 5000 votes in the first weekend and we’re almost sold out - only a couple of tables left. This really all be the social and business event of the year so if you haven’t already, get your rickets through me I promise an unforgettable night. Liverpool Fashion Week is also around the corner and I am excited to see what’s going on the catwalk and catch up with models and my team past and present. Again if you want to get involved, message me.
This month’s magazine is an excellent read as always, so much going on in our fabulous region, filled with talented and inspirational people. Don’t forget to follow us on social media too for daily updates and as always, stay memorable,

More coaches on the road from August to boost Liverpool’s economy
T
he UK’s largest coach operator will be providing a welcome boost for jobs and tourism in Liverpool as more vehicles hit the road this Summer.
The familiar white coaches restarted operations on a limited network of services in March following an 11 week suspension in response to the national lockdown.
National Express is increasing its overall operation of scheduled coach services by 21%*, adding thousands of extra journey options per day to its national network.
John Boughton, Commercial Director at National Express UK Coach, said: “We’ve been working hard to rebuild our network and are excited by the growing demand for coach travel.
This includes an increased number of routes available through Liverpool including the new 551 service to London. 6
It’s great to see coaches back on the road, helping people visit friends and family and take much
needed holidays and day trips. “This is good news for the coach station team at Liverpool One, the network of local coach companies who operate services on our behalf, and for the shops, restaurants, hotels and visitor attractions in the city. “This expansion has provided additional work for our existing workforce and created new long-term job opportunities for the future.” For more information, visit www.nationalexpress.com

Lifestyle chats to Mr Tumble Liverpool How long have you been Mr Tumble Liverpool? I started MTL in April 2019 How did it start? My nephew and his little friend was convinced I looked like him, we tried to hire someone for his birthday/ christening and struggled to find someone local an affordable that done Mr Tumble, the guy we found lived down south and would have ended up costing 100's of pounds to bring to Liverpool. So after searching with no luck I decided to have my first costume made and that I'd get dressed up and get some pictures hopefully he'll believe, I done this and everyone at the party loved it and was asking me to come to their party ext that was back in 2015. I was no where near as confident of have the experience I have now but decided to give it a go .......I got a job opportunity to work away so I snapped it up went to work across the country for an outdoor children's centre and then 12
found an opportunity to go abroad to places like Turkey, Greece and the Alps and more. Have you met Justin Fletcher and what was it like? We've not met face to face unfortunately however, we've worked together on a project during the lockdown last year for Follow Your Dreams Charity who I'm an ambassador for. The wrong thing was crazy as you can tell from my face on the picture attached, I wasn't expecting him to join the zoom either........we had planned to surprise one of our charity members with a video chat from Mr Tumble and Santa when Justin joined us too! Crazy was so much fun... What do you love about what you do? I love
that I'm making people happy, from children to parents, aunties, uncle's grandparents and everyone the smiles the laughter it fuesl to my fire. The reactions from some people genuinely make me so happy, I've had people crying with happiness because theirs child is having so much fun or is so happy and to have that effect on people is crazy. I love it. Do you do sign language? I do! I've completed my level 1, 2 and 3 in Makton with Makaton Charity and use different levels of Makaton everyday depending on who I'm working with and the type of performance I'm doing. Did you make your costumes? I don't personally however, they are tailor made by a
fantastic seamstress who works so hard with all the details to make it look so good!
was a big part of why I've been nominated along with the charity work I've done over the years.
How exhausting is it being a kids entertainer? Being a children's entertainer can be tiring BUT the exhausting side is the business side of things haha! You'll know yourself Amanda Being self employed can be tough I'm responsible for everything from advertising, taking with bookings, payments and invoicing, cleaner etc as well as ensuring I'm covered/insured, trained and qualified as well as then being the face of it all and performing each day and working. It can be long hard and tiring but worth it.
What has been your biggest booking? Taking part in a 5 day residential in Wales for Follow Your Dreams Charity was so much fun and opened the door to so many opportunities and is truly the reason I became and ambassador for them. I fell in love with their vision and passion for supporting children and young people either this or a weekly stint over summer for local councils working on their summer projects offering my services.
You’ve been described as inspirational, why do you think this? It's shocked and surprised me to be honest, I sat back when I found out and was thinking what have I done to be an inspiration. I'm hoping I've inspired people to SMILE nothing else haha during the lockdowns it was hard and I knew if I sat and done nothing I'd have struggled with my mental health so I decide to do a live stream every morning from 10am,boo some dancing and singing an have some fun and hopefully help boost people's morales and keep the kids happy, I think this
What are your plans for the future? To continue to elevate the MTL brand I have created and hopefully one day be in a position to open my own centre in the city that’s inclusive for all. My goal is to offer a family centre which will be open and accessible to all offering all different levels of support, services and facilities that will benefit families and young people's development/ well-being. Do you follow everything Mr Tumble does? I've followed Justin over the years and watched the amazing work he's done and how he's helped elevate Makaton ........ in my performance or personality I do follow him
however I've definitely made MTL my own I can’t hide that I'm a scouser so I've embraced it and i always say I'm not Mr Tumble I'm Mr Tumble Liverpool haha I have my own spin on Mr tumble. What do kids love about you? I don’t know, my smile my personality haha! I think the fact i love what I do and have a passion for making people happy and smile and giving them a good time and I think it shows and thats why both children and adults enjoy what I do. Although I'm first admit I'm scary to some and not everyone's cup of tea haha. What were you doing before this? Before this I was a nursery worker /Play Worker for a private day nursery and before that I was a kids club entertainer and child minder abroad. Can you imagine ever doing anything else now? I never in a million years imagined I'd be doing this 2 years on and having the level of success I have with it all and the support I've hard from the city has been amazing and I'm so grateful. I don't want to imagine what I'd be doing if it wasn't this! I know I wouldn't be as happy and as motivated though! 13
BEAUTY
CLAIRE WHITTLE
A
Liverpool business woman suffering from chronic bipolar who watched her business fold under the pandemic has launched a new business to motivate others never to give up. Award winning beauty therapist and skin specialist Claire Whittle was forced to close her salon, CJ in the City, during lockdown. Whilst at home she developed Papillon Beauty, developing an exclusive range of false lashes that can safely be reapplied 30 times as well as fragrant cuticle oils. Claire, 45, whose condition often forces her to stay in bed for days on end, refused to let the pandemic defeat her and kept her mind busy developing the new beauty products which sell online.
Claire said, “I have always spoken out about my mental health because it 14 14
if can just help one other person then I feel I have helped someone. I have a wonderfully supportive family and friends network but it can still be very lonely when you have mental health issues. I needed to keep my mind active and strong because it is so easy to hide under the duvet and forget the world. But my passion has
always been beauty and it was devastating watching the salon close and see my income nosedive. I had the choice to despair but I dig deep and thought, no, I am going to fight this.” Papillon Beauty has a growing instagram following and works with influencers such as… Melissa Jacques.

anchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park (RVP) has confirmed the return of its ever-popular Flight Academy this summer, as it reopens fully following the lifting of Coronavirus restrictions. Sessions are available up to five times per week throughout August. The Academy programme, which has been running for several years, is a firm favourite with young

They then head outside to have a look at Manchester Airport’s runways, watch planes taking off and landing and see some of the various jobs that they’ve learnt about in action.
Once the Academy session has finished, families visiting the RVP can immerse themselves in the buzz of a busy international airport, watching aircraft including the giant A380 coming and going at close quarters, take in a tour of the Park’s retired airliners including the iconic Concorde, and make use of a sizeable play area and on-site café. NEW campaign in which foster carers explain how looking after children in care has changed their lives for the better has been launched in Liverpool. ‘Small moments, big difference’ features inspiring stories from three people who look after sibling groups and teenagers, and is aimed at encouraging more people to come forward to foster with the local authority. Last year the council’s fostering service received 522 referrals, of which almost one-third were brothers or sisters. Because there is a shortage of council foster carers, 31 per cent of the sibling groups were placed with external fostering agencies - some of them outside of the city, or were separated Over half of looked-after children in Liverpool are aged 10 and over, and last year alone the fostering service received 167 referrals for this group. As part of Liverpool City Council’s Recovery Pledge,
Opening Closed Doors, the fostering service aims to increase foster carers by 50 per year for the next three years. Maria’s story Liverpool foster carer Maria shares a fostering memory that made her realise the difference she’s made. With Maria’s love and support, three siblings are now truly able to be themselves. She said: "When you see the kids grow and flourish and do their own thing, you look back and you think they may not have got that far, if they'd been split up. "The thing I love about fostering is that it doesn't discriminate, anyone can become a foster carer. There's always someone out there who needs that care, who needs that love. "It's been rewarding for me. I'm 58 and I don't know when I'm ever going to stop!" Debbie and Dot’s story After two years of fostering, Debbie and Dot reflect on the equal
joy and heartache of “fostering firsts” for them and the three siblings they foster. “When he said, ‘I love you Nanny Deb and Nanny Dot’, we knew we had gained their trust. “My advice if you're thinking of fostering would be go for it! Don't wait as long as we did. But only go for it if your heart is really in it. They've had a big change in their lives, and you can make that difference, and I think we have." Stephen’s story As a sole male foster carer, Stephen is passionate about supporting teenagers at a crucial time in their lives. He said: "I try and be firm but fair. Have that banter with them and speak on their level as well as being their guardian and setting boundaries.” Find all the details and more at www.fostering. liverpool.gov.uk 25
FESTIVAL Fika held its first community festival last month. Over 500 people attended the music, dance and food and drink festival held at Moss Pits School in Childwall. Organsier Anthony Grice said, “It was amazing to see so many people come out and support the event, I plan for bigger and even better next year. Fika is all about supporting the local community and we will continue to do so through the coffee shop, with many more events planned. Thank you to everyone for your continuous support, it blows me away."

MATCHMAKER Lara Besbrode, from South Manchester, lived through the painful process of an international divorce during the pandemic. Now a single mother-of-three, Lara has emerged from the divorce as a stronger version of herself and has established her own premium matchmaking service – The Matchmaker UK www.thematchmaker.uk
F
ollowing a successful career spanning three decades in PR and digital marketing, Lara channelled her postdivorce energy to rebuild her life by researching, launching and establishing a remarkable matchmaking business during the pandemic. Initially an idea that started in Lara’s kitchen, The Matchmaker UK team has rapidly grown into an elite matchmaking service that boasts an impressive staff roster of professionals including a Sales Director, a remote team of UK-based ambassadors located in every major city, an expert profiler, copywriter and a solid network of UK and international matchmakers.

The Matchmaker UK has managed to swiftly establish itself and collaborates with elite agencies across the UK & globe. The team of expert ambassadors network daily to recruit single people for the agency’s ever-growing database. Not only is Lara currently completing her International MMI (Matchmaker Institute) Accreditation, but she has also been featured in the Real Housewives of Cheshire’s recent series as their Celebrity Matchmaker. She is also a regular speaker on Talk Radio (most recently chatting to Tricia Goddard) and was featured in the BBC in February 2021.
Success stories at The Matchmaker UK are common. For the most awe-inspiring story, consider the couple who was introduced on 1 August 2020, fell in love on the first date, and are planning their engagement for 2022. With their first wedding on the horizon, The Matchmaker UK shows no signs of slowing down. If you’re too busy to date, recently single or waiting to meet that special someone, Lara Besbrode has three tips for success. First, she recommends dating outside of your comfort zone and being open to meeting someone outside your type. Next, prepare to go on a journey of self-development. Realise that your past is
your past, leave behind the baggage and prepare to open up by being the kind of person you want to attract. Finally, don’t look for an instant connection. That initial spark is simply lust (and not love). As a self-proclaimed true romantic, Lara believes that partnering with a matchmaker takes the hurdles out of finding love. With the vetting out of the way, and a team of experts on your side, meeting that person is only a matter of time.
to secure their relationship goals. With a proven success rate, commitment to diversity and inclusivity and a body-positive approach to matchmaking, The Matchmaker UK is an elite, bespoke and premium service that caters to the unique demands of singles looking to meet their match in the UK and beyond.
For more information about their services, please email info@ thematchmaker.uk for a Discovery call with Lara and her team. Facebook https:// www.facebook.com/ TheMatchmakerUK Instagram https:// www.instagram.com/ thematchmakeruk/
Matchmaking is a challenging profession. Each client presents with a unique set of requirements and expectations in a partner. This is no problem for Lara, who is so passionate about her role as a matchmaker that she’s prepared to go above and beyond to successfully match her clients. “The pandemic has not only upended the dating landscape, it has also introduced anxiety and missed opportunities into the equation.” Lara says. “We find that, now more than ever, people have woken up to a new reality, one where purpose and quality trumps superficial experiences.” People are turning to matchmaking in the hope of meeting a quality match, and they’re looking to partner with a high-quality matchmaker

Secure Corporate and Domestic Storage in Cyprus
C
hange is bound to happen. Renovation, relocation, remodelling. All these rank as one of the most stressful life events. Your life and work are disrupted as you make adjustments and changes to your daily routine. Additionally, organising, packing and keeping track of your belongings is a hassle. Then, once you move, you have to figure out where to put all your items. Luckily, you can take away some of that stress by storing your possessions
32
at Peter Morton Removals storage facilities! At PMR, one of the core values is to make customers life as stress-free as possible. Renovation, Relocation and Remodelling, do not have to be stressful life events. Due to increased demand a few years ago, Peter Morton made a considerable investment and sourced a dedicated, massive storage facility on a 7,500 square meter site. Right now, it is ranked as the largest and safest storage facility in Cyprus. At PMR, the storage crates are made of wood and are 250 cubic ft each in size. The storage facilities are approved by BAR (British Association of Removers) and all crates are manufactured and imported from the UK. It’s easy to store items anywhere, but our warehouse is both convenient and protected. Considering
your belongings’ safety ahead of time will save you the stress of having to replace something later or potentially losing something irreplaceable, expensive or dear to your heart. Additionally, the warehouse itself and all goods that are in the store are fully insured! With the recent increase in Cyprus crime rates, storing valuable goods at home doesn’t seem like a safe option any longer. Unlike houses, storage facilities offer more security to stored items. At Peter Morton Removals, the whole facility is covered by a state-of-the-art security system monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Three freerunning guard dogs also patrol the premises. It is, therefore, wiser to store valuable items in a
storage unit rather than in the garage or basement of our houses. Peter Morton Removals domestic storage crates are all individually numbered. They are loaded on to purposebuilt vehicles and brought to your house, ready to be loaded by the PMR team. Upon loading of each crate, with a full inventory, the doors will be secured. On arrival of the PMR vehicle back at a secure warehouse, your numbered crate will be placed back in its specific row by a forklift. This means your goods are not handled anymore from when collected. The redelivery process works exactly the same but in
reverse. Every crate that arrives at the warehouse is logged on to the computer system. You can access your domestic storage crates at any time by appointment with the office.
of where they going and what conditions they will be stored in. We welcome potential customers to come and view our facility, so you can see for yourself and be confident in your decision to use us.
At PMR, we always suggest to our clients that they come and look at the storage facility. If you want to store your goods, you need to be very sure For more information, please visit their website www.petermortonremoval.com or give them a call on 26923588 - Paphos office or 25722180 - Limassol office.
