In the east, the RIVER Dommel is the exception within a canal system. It is also connected to a dense network of forest patches The CANAL is hinged between an intensive river network in the north and a disperse one in the south. The canals historically have connected cities

In parts the RIVER narrows and enters the city through a series of tunnels under the railway. In parts it ‘disappears’. Along its length it is more than a line, it gathers a series of landscapes

The west of the CANAL arm is being actively used for industrial transportation of goods. The east arm is being underutilised ads the industries do not actively use the canal, but reside there due to land value. It crosses destinations from the regional to the local scale e.g. airport to housing. There are also privatised recreational activities

Water transportation, through water taxi’s, will run parallel to bike, e-bikes and pedestrians. Buses will be networked to the x. Pedestrian Watercraft Bike Bus Car

We separate stormwater from the CSO sewer Stormwater is collected and encouraged slow down by means of using micro topography configurations. Collection is local to ensure water quality is maintained. This has a positive effect on the quality of the water entering the Dommel.
