Investigation showed that the victim was aboard his service vehicle waiting for provincial employees to ferry to the Provincial Jail when he was approached from behind and shot in the head three times by the assailant. Victim was rushed to nearby Bethany Hospital but died while undergoing treatment. The still unidentified gunman fled together with another male companion onboard a motorcycle. Casuga suffered a .45 caliber pistol gunshot wound on his right eye, neck and shoulder. Two deformed slugs were recovered at the crime scene.

SAF TREE-BUTE. Families of SAF 44 planted a tree for each of the fallen 44. The tree-bute site is a theme park being developed by Cordillera Heritage Foundation where a portion was originally dedicated to the 14 Cordilleran SAF. The rest of the families made a plea to the foundation that they include the whole SAF 44 in the tree-bute site. CARL TAAWAN
