The Ides of March. I took pictures for this issue on March 15. Spring was really getting ready to burst onto the scene that day. By today, March 31, as you can see from the picture above, spring-blooming flowers are bursting into their full regalia. On the earliest Roman calendars March was the first month of the year. That makes sense to me. March marks the spring equinox and the end of winter. New life springs forth from plants and animals. It is no wonder that spring is a season of hope and new beginnings. Enjoy the spring sights from my little urban spot on the earth!
