Since 1956, the City of Anaheim Community Services Department has been dedicated to providing high school students with a distinctive opportunity to gain insights into their local government. The Youth in Government Day program was conceived with the explicit purpose of offering this unique experience, and over the years, it has evolved into a truly memorable and invaluable endeavor for the youth involved. Participants are actively encouraged to immerse themselves in meaningful dialogue and engage in activities that can shape Anaheim’s future. At the program’s core is a commitment to cultivate awareness among youth about the inner workings of their city and how it serves its citizens. The overarching aim is to instill a sense of civic responsibility and community engagement. The upcoming Youth in Government Day promises to be a comprehensive event featuring representatives from various City of Anaheim departments. Attendees can anticipate a day filled with enlightening activities, including a breakfast, a working lunch, discussions on pivotal community topics, and active participation in a mock youth city council meeting. Prospective participants are urged to submit their applications before the Wednesday, January 31, 2024 deadline.
