1 introduciendo la ciudad...

Nápoles es una ciudad de impresionantes contrastes. Calles maltrechas y mugrientas desembocan en grandes avenidas enmarcadas por hileras de palmeras; las fachadas más desmigajadas pueden esconder cafés de estilo barroco y los pequeños santuarios de culto que se desperdigan por la ciudad se mezclan con los locales más vanguardistas. Tan pronto sientes que estás en un barrio de Tánger como apareces en una calle de estilo Parisino. Mercados, multiculturalidad, pobreza, suciedad, espíritu cosmopolita, cultura, lujo... Todo ello mezclado compone el panorama Napolitano. Sin embargo, este es un viaje de dibujo de arquitectura, ciudad y paisaje, en el que el estudiante necesitará captar la magia de esta ciudad con su lápiz. Un último consejo: cuidar vuestros bolsos y no dejeis de probar la auténcica pizza napolitana. introducing the city...
Extremes are something Naples does impressively well. Grimy streets hit palm-fringed boulevards, crumbling façades hide baroque ballrooms and cultish shrines flank cutting-edge clubs. One minute you’re in dusty Tangiers, the next you’re thinking of Paris. Markets, multiculturalism and poverty, as well as dirt, cosmopolitan spirit, culture, luxury... This amazing mix is Naples. Nevertheless, this is architecture trip where the students need to capture this esence in their sketchbooks. One last tip: take care of you belongings and don’t hesitate to try the authentic napolitan pizza.

Primeras aproximaciones a la ciudad. Pasearemos por el centro y haremos distintas paradas en sus plazas y templos más emblemáticos. El alumno deberá hacer dibujos rápidos, de no más de 15 minutos.
First contact with the city. We will be walking around city centre and making some pauses on the main squares and temples. During this short stops, the students will make quick sketches. You can’t use more than 15minutes on each of them.
Nos encontraremos en la Plaza Garibaldi, junto a la estación y caminaremos el Corso Umberto I hasta el centro, donde pasaremos la mañana. Después de una pausa para comer, nos dirigiremos al “Quartieri Spagnioli” para dibujar por la tarde, hasta que se ponga el sol.
Punto de encuentro: Meeting Point: Piaza Garibaldi 10 am Material: Cuaderno en formato A3 apaisado, bolígrafo negro. Material: A3 sketchbook horizontal, black pen.
We will meet on Piazza Garibaldi, next to main train station, and will walk through Corso Urberto I to the city centre, where we will spend the morning. After lunch, we will head to “Quartieri Spagnioli” where we will spend the rest of the day.

Nos encontraremos en la parada de metro Museo para coger juntos el Funicular que nos lleva a la parte alta de la ciudad, la zona de Sant’Elmo. Allí vamos a visitar la Certosa de San Martino y el Parco di Villa Floridiana. La panorámica desde allí es muy interesante para nuestros dibujos.
We will meet close to Museo Metro Station to take the cable railway together. It will take us to the highest part of the city, Sant’ Elmo neighbourhood. There, we will visit the Certosa de San Martino and Villa Floridiana Park. The panoramic view from there is amazing and very interesting for our drawings. We will 2 hours free time for lunch.
Por la tarde, descenderemos caminando y recorreremos el paseo junto al mar por el barrio de Chaia.
In the evening, we will go down by foot, and we will walk all over the sea side walk in Chaia’s neigbourhood. 8 encuentra la Villa Malaparte. Allí haremos una parada de aproximadamente una hora para hacer dibujos exteriores de la casa y después, si es posible, la visitares por dentro. La Casa Malaparte es una obra arquitectónica moderna de 1937 considerada por mucho tiempo como del arquitecto racionalista italiano Adalberto Libera y actualmente atribuida a su dueño, el escritor Curzio Malaparte, construida en uno de los más bellos parajes del mundo, en un costado de un acantilado sobre el Mediterráneo, al este de Capri en Italia. dia 3

Pasaremos el día entero en la Isla de Capri. Llegaremos por medio del Ferri que sale cada hora del puerto de Nápoles.
We will spend the day visiting the mediterranian island of Capri. To get there, we will take together the same ferry at Napoles Harbour.
Al llegar, haremos una primera visita al puerto y al centro del pueblo, donde aprovecharemos para hacer algunos dibujos.
First thing, we are going to visit the main city centre, where we will make some drawings.

After that we will iniciate our walking jurney through the mountains, untill we reach the very hide cliffed zone of the island where Villa Malaparte is.
There we will spend around one hour making some sketches of the house from the outside, and later, if possible, we will visit it. Casa Malaparte (also Villa Malaparte) is a house on Punta Massullo, on the eastern side of the Isle of Capri, Italy. It is one of the best examples of Italian modern and contemporary architecture. The house was conceived around 1937 by the well-known Italian architect Adalberto Libera for Curzio Malaparte. Malaparte actually rejected Libera’s design and built the home himself with the help of Adolfo Amitrano, a local stonemason.

El último día lo pasaremos en las ruinas históricas de la ciudad de Paestum a unos 40 km al sur de Nápoles. Para llegar cogeremos el tren. Nos encontraremos en la estación principal por la mañana.
This last day we will spend in the historic place of Paestum, 40 km southern from Naples. To get there we will take together the same train in the morning, therefor we will meet at the main Station.
Paestum (antigua ciudad griega de Poseidonia o Posidonia) es el nombre romano clásico de una importante ciudad grecorromana en la región italiana de Campania. La ciudad se hallaba rodeada por una muralla de bloques de piedra caliza y por un foso exterior. Sus construcciones se han conservado bien, gracias a que, durante una época, el mar la cubrió totalmente: los templos de Posidonia son los mejor conservados de la Grecia Antigua. Entre ellos se destacan el Hereo o templo dórico de Hera, de mediados del siglo VI a. C.; el templo dórico de Poseidón (el Neptuno de la mitología romana y dedicado en realidad a Apolo), de mediados del siglo V a. C. y el templo de Ceres (que en realidad estaba dedicado a Atenea).
Paestum was a major ancient Greek city on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in Magna Graecia. After its foundation by Greek colonists under the name of Poseidonia (Ancient Greek: t was eventually conquered by the Lucanians and later the Romans. The Lucanians renamed it to Paistos and the Romans gave the city its current name. The ruins of Paestum are notable for their three ancient Greek temples which are in a very good state of preservation. Today the remains of the city are found in the modern frazione of the same name, which is part of the comune of Capaccio in the Province of Salerno, Campania, Italy.
