On Wednesday, April 5th, Circle K at Oakland University held their induction ceremony. 19 new members were pinned, awards were handed out, and the 2017-2018 Executive Board was installed. At our inductions ceremony, we were fortunate to have Sue Petrisin, immediate past Kiwanis international president, as our Keynote speaker. We got to listen to her travel stories and how our contributions and efforts with the Eliminate Project go a long way. Sue Petrisin is truly an inspiration and I am very glad I had the opportunity to hear her stories and message! ~Jordan Parkin Vice President of Circle K at Oakland University

Her Academic Peer Mentor, Caitlyn, first introduced her to Circle K. “I have always loved doing community service because I have always had a passion for helping others and I knew that this organization would be something I would love to take part in. The kindness, compassion, leadership, positivity, friendliness, motivation, and diligence that I have seen in members is contagious and has inspired me to grow and do my best not only in service, but in all aspects of life! Jenna’s favorite service project this year was working with Fleece & Thank You to make blankets for children in the hospital. Congratulations Jenna on being awarded member of the month!

It was nice to meet new faces. We waited tables for everyone there and the older folks there were so sweet! They were so polite and nice and a couple people asked what my name was and where I was from and made conversation with me about random topics. There were a couple people who thanked our organization for coming to help out and were very appreciative! It was heartwarming to see everyone of all ages bond over a soup supper! ~Jenna Johnston General Member of Circle K at Oakland University
