Bridal Couture Week SS’17: 10 Hottest Trends on the Bridal Fashion Radar

The Bridal Couture Week SS’17 ended with a huge aplomb, and we got to feast our eyes on gorgeous collections that brimmed us up with inspirations for the bridal season. HSY created all the right rage with his exotic ethnic-inspired collection, 1901, while The Classic Reds gave us a million reasons to fall deep in love with crimson scarlet hues.

Designers have given us a delightful whirlwind of A-line slits that come in all shapes and sizes. While some collections feature incredibly long ankle-grazing silhouettes with sharp A-line slits that delight us with exotic zardozi-rich lehengas. There are plenty of jacket-style tops, short tops and the bold navel-grazing A-line slits to flaunt this bridal season.

Insanely Hot Styling Hacks from the 90s that will always keep your style on-point! The 90’s fashion scene was a powerful, edgy and bold youth movement that emphasized a carefree attitude, an effortless sexiness and a casual comfort as the basis of style. Designers such as Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs were funneling in minimalistic and grunge trends, and style sensations like Kate Moss, Tyra Banks and the Spice Girls showed the crowd how to rock silk slip dresses, wide-leg pants, distressed jeans and plaid with attitude and audacity. “Too Cool to Care’’ was the vibe that defined fashion trends throughout that glorious decade, and of course, the pop and film industry played a huge role in setting these trends on fire. Knotting your shirt at the midriff is an excellent way to accentuate your waist and flaunt your curves, even the baggiest and most oversized shirts. And what’s even better, it turns your long button down into a chic crop top that allows you to flaunt some skin!

Take a look at some of the hottest styling tricks from the 90s, which have been, are, and will be, forever a la mode! Tie up the shirt!

Chokers were a massive accessory trend back in the 90s, and now, they are hotter than ever. You have lots of variety to explore, from statement chokers, to delicate pieces, or even, ribbon-like neckties. They are your perfect fix for an instantly bolder, edgier and striking look.

Nudevotion Diaries: Makeup Looks to Accentuation the Sensuality of a Matted Nude Pout!

Bright pouts always grab attention, but when it comes to exuding a powerful sensuality, only a classic nude lip can take you places. Be it a casual daytime event, or a festive black tie affair, a muted matte look always strikes the right chords of glamour. But creating a barely-there all-natural look isn’t all that simple, it’s an art that requires you to blend in the right hues that will flatter your sensual nude pout and lift it up. Here’s a little something to inspire your next nude masterpiece:

Imani Ortiz

The [modeling] industry can be interpreted in very black and white concepts. You're either made for it or you're not, you either have what it takes or you don't, it's either a yes or a no, you're either commercial or high fashion. Most of the options to the naked eye are black or white and with me knowing that, I try to educate myself while using this information proactively. My career is relatively new and constantly molding itself into something more complex. My willingness to be openminded, creativity and optimistic is one of the many reasons my ideas and portrayal of them are so fluid. I use the word fluid because it’s easy to make a mis-

take but it’s the way you learn from it and use it to your advantage that makes something fluid. The idea of failing or making a mistake doesn’t scare me nor misguide me, it keeps me going and gives me a purpose for doing what I desire: model.

It’s no secret that there’s a lack of representation of color in the fashion world. Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell broke through those barriers as pretty much most recognizable figures in the 90’s and so on. When you ask someone to name one of the most popular black models, they’ll likely name one of those two. It would seem to me that those are the only black models that the general population knows and that’s one the top things I would change about the industry. Shine more light on the black and brown communities of the fashion world would be a goal of mine. A very central goal of mine would simply be to break that first barrier and work my

way up to be published on the normal basis. I want to be better than my idols. I want to be honorably mentioned when you hear comparisons to Tyra and Naomi. I want to be ‘the new girl on the block.’ When I do reach those goals, I would also love to be a door for other minority women to get into the industry. I would love to help someone’s dreams come true as mine did. As I said before, this is still relatively new but I do not doubt myself in anyway shape or form so I know growth is constantly happening. I went from being meek when someone wanted to take a picture of me to asking can someone take my picture or when’s the next shoot. One of my best moments must go to when I was chosen as a model for a local designers’ Look Book. It was my first time around more than one photographer and more than 15 models and as you can imagine, I was the underdog. I found myself just watching the other models in action and I took notes. This was the place I blossomed and surpassed that shy girl stage, I found the fun in it all finally. It was one of my favorite things I did thus far but it’s only going to get better. I’m confident that this year will be in my favor and I’m ready to work for what I want and no obstacles will stop me at this point. No distraction, no backtracks, just art!

Noa-Karee Savalas Chatman My name is Noa-Karee. I am 17 years old. I’ve been a model for about a year now. When I first started modeling, I’ve only did photoshoots. I had no experience in runway besides walking around my house in heels. Over the last eight (8) months I have grown not only in my walk, but in my poses, angles and confidence. My first fashion show was in December 2016 for Jegie Carrera in Chicago, IL. Although I was nervous and it was my first show, some would look at me and say I was experienced. Joining Dream INC, LLC has helped me to explore myself as a model, and it has brought out my potential to be great. My ultimate goal as a model is to walk in high-end fashion shows, and to show people that modeling is much more than just a pretty face. I hope to someday travel the world and do what I love to do. Another goal of mine is to participate in every fashion week there is -- New York, London, Paris, Los Angeles etc. Many people think that all models are super skinny and fragile looking, but not every model has to be underweight and that is something I hope to change about the industry. I hope to show people that a model's image isn't always a factor. I believe confidence and attitude is all a model needs to be successful in the industry.

Throughout the past year I’ve met lots of new faces and bonded with the fellow models at Dream INC, LLC. I’ve also rekindled relationships with old friends. I’ve been given so many opportunities and I know that there are plenty more to come within the next couple years! Modeling helped me to explore myself and find my inner confidence and that, so far, has been one of my best experiences. I look forward to participating in your fashion show and being a great addition to your look.
