The “twirl� logo as it was dubbed by viewsers was well recieved. The like the colours yet believed on a small scale a gradient may not work on a logo. Simply trying to keep with the theme of the Sydney Tafe logo, it has gradients, i decided to keep them there. The logo wasalso liked due to the fact the unusual shape, gd, is instantly recognisable and after it is clearly associated with the college the text may not even be needed. The intricate details of the logo were also said to be far too intricate fo a logo. Though i believe graphic design always works well when the design is well thought out and has intricate details.
Rationale .............................................................................................................................................................. The idea of the logo was to create something unusual and something that was graphically interesting. I wanted the logo to be a shape yet i wanted the shape to mean something. So i used gd for graphic design and placed them together to make them look like one whole shape, though after a while the viewer recognises the g & d and the instantly relate the logo to the college whenever they see it. For the advertisement i wanted it to be something that both advertises the college and also the new logo. So i made a graphic from the logo parts and formed a shape, a maze/ mind map, which relates to “explore graphic design�.
