Update

Swimmer of the Term

Our featured swimmer this term is Charli Pascoe. Originally assessed at turtle level, Charli has moved rapidly to goldfish. Charli has shown great promise and determination as she quickly progresses through our swimming program. Her teacher commented that she is “going from strength to strength in each of her lessons”. In a short period she has mastered a stream line body position which has seen her manage the one arm freestyle on the board, swimming more independently each week. Well done Charli, we hope you enjoy swimming over the summer period.

Coaches Corner

A highlight this November has been the return to Gosford Pool of one of our former swimmers – Tim Schofield. Tim has recently returned from a very successful trip to France representing Australia at the World Surf Lifesaving Championships. Tim attended one of our swim squad sessions and gave a very inspiring talk to our swimmers detailing his journey to the elite level of Surf Lifesaving. All the squad swimmers were able to wear his hard earned medals and Tim even joined in for a swim with the squad swimmers. A great experience for our young swimmers, thanks Tim. Our swimmers are now focused on participating and achieving personal bests at the Coast and Valley Swimming Championships. Using this as a platform to progress to representative swimming at the Country Championships in February next year. We traditionally identify the summer months with the annual school swimming carnival, district/zone representation, and even higher honours. The Gosford Olympic Pool offers squad participation for both competitive and non-competitive swimmers and assessments can be arranged on a daily basis by contacting reception.
