OFFICER'S MESSAGE

EDITOR'S LETTER LAUREN HUYNH HEYY key clubbers! Merry December! Hope you are all enjoying your winter break, sorry this newsletter is late this month. I am currently in Vietnam and the wifi connection is very weak. Excuses aside, I hope you all had the chance to stay for our DCON or officer

PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS BEN BUNYATIPANON

elections interest meeting and consider running/going to DCON. (HI if you're reading this rn send me a message saying "PEACHES" and you can earn some bonus key club points). It is so much fun and a perfect opportunity to meet others from different divisions and celebrate service! Also a huge shoutout to our LTG Vy for hosting such a fun DCM and a big thank you to everyone who helped out and came. I am excited to get back to our weekly meetings and see you all after break. In love and service, Lauren Huynh <3

in only a month! I hope to see a lot of you guys running! You still have a little over a month to get those DCON requirements in so let’s grind out those hours so lots of us can go to DCON this year. I can’t wait to see what our club is made of, see you after break!

In love and service, Hey key clubbers! Now that we’ve had our Ben Bunyatipanon DCON interest meeting who’s excited to be going to Portland, Oregon this year! We’re officially over halfway through the service year and we are having our officer elections

DRAGON OF THE MONTH

DAN

Every month we choose a member to recognize. Our dragon of the month is DAN! We asked him about his key club experience and this was his response: What's your fav fruit? Raspberries! Why did you join KC? I joined KC because I liked the idea of making the world a better place through service. Since freshman year, I've always wanted to better myself as a human being and KC provided me the opportunity to do so! Fav key club memory? Testing and making bubble waffles in preparation for DCM. I've never eaten so many bubble waffles in one day before so it was definitely a journey!

-DECEMBER DRAGON OF THE MONTH-

"I WANT TO BETTER MYSELF AND KEY CLUB PROVIDED ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO" -DAN

A MONTH IN REVIEW

COMMITTEE UPDATES PUBLICATIONS In publications, we have been doing various tasks such as making graphics to post on Instagram and updating our website (www.hazenkeyclub.weebly.com). Our most recent project was painting all the posters at the December DCM. Now we are focusing on making a scrapbook that encompasses all of our club’s events and achievements that will be entered into a contest a DCON. If you guys have any photos, send them to us via insta so we can add them to the scrapbook! Personally this is my second year in publications committee and I love it because it is not too stressful and gives me a chance to express my creative side by doing arts and crafts. This year it’s my goal to win the scrapbook contest. -Ellen Huynh (10)

OUTREACH So far, our committee is working on little projects to try to gain more key club members, along with retaining our current members. Our plan is to each create personalized cards for someone at hazen and invite them to join, along with doing small and fun activities during lunchtime to promote key club and its objectives. I have found that my experience being in outreach to be quite interesting and fulfilling. It’s nice knowing that I can actually do things to help key club. As it’s a new committee, we have to work to find what is working out for us and what isn’t, which gets us to think about what we need to get done in order for our operations to be successful. It’s nice to be working in a team -Joyce Do (12)

COMMITTEE UPDATES SERVICE It has been a great experience becoming one of the service committee members. I've learned lessons to manage projects and teamwork skills. I also have a great opportunity to make friends. We are trying to execute our current projects as much as possible. Most of them are going well, but some are still a struggle. For example: my project is the first one I have ever created by myself. I don’t know how to contact and talk with the counselor to ask for more information. When I asked him for more information and schedule a date I can talk with him, he didn’t answer me for several times. However, I will try more and think another way to contact with them Gigi Tran (12)

FUNDRAISING Fundraising committee is currently working on creating as many ongoing fundraisers before DCON, which is only a few months away! My experience in the committee this year has been really fun and so far, my favorite fundraiser as of now was selling bubble waffles at the December DCM! -Emily Dinh (12)
