EDITOR'S NOTE Hey Key Clubbers! It's our second month together in this Key Club year. We've had such a strong start together and I hope that we can continue this spark we've ignited and build our club to be stronger than it has ever been in HAZEN HISTORY. We've got fundraisers and tons of activities, service events, and bonding's planned for you guys and I hope y'all are ready to take on the rest of this year with us! PS. Good luck on your AP tests!

PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS

Hey Key Clubbers, It's finally May, which means spring is in full swing! With spring comes 70 degree weather, allergies, and possibly the most dreaded of all, AP testing. For those who have AP tests, I wish you all the best of luck - you can do it! Tests or not, I encourage everyone to make the most out of these last few weeks of the school year because I know that this season can be a bit slow for Key Club and, unfortunately, it is easy to lose motivation. My advice for you all is to go out, enjoy the sun, and volunteer while you're at it! Speaking of volunteering, thank you to everyone who served in the past few weeks! I know that many of you helped with Color Run this weekend, and while I was unable to go this year, I hope you all had fun and didn't inhale too much colored powder. For me, I volunteered a bit at the UW Night Market that was also this weekend (shoutout to our secretary Trinity for volunteering to wear that sweaty boba costume in the hot sun and still managing to look happy in pictures). If you guys have pictures from volunteering events that you would like to be shared with the club through our PowerPoints, Instagram page, or newsletters, please feel free to send them to me or the other officers! There are a few exciting things coming up for us soon, including our Joint May DCM with Division 33! Also, we have TWO upcoming fundraisers which will begin this Wednesday the 16th! We will be selling ribbon leis and candygrams for seniors (AKA Kiss a Senior Goodbye) for the next two weeks and all proceeds will go to lowering the cost of DCON 2019, so be sure to read on for more information :--) In love and service, Kristin Hong

DRAGON OF THE MONTH MONICA YU

FOOD: ABALONE (YUM SEA SNAILS!) FAVORITE FOOD FAVORITE ANIMAL : HER 30 YEAR OLD KOI FISH Â I would have to say my favorite key club memory was preparing about 100 sandwiches to pass out to the homeless in the Seattle area. This experience made me realize the importance of giving back to our local community and assisting those in need right in our nearby neighborhoods. It is astonishing how much people tend to take for granted and I was definitely content knowing I was contributing to the creation of a world which embraces acts of kindness.
