What is Key Club? Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. We are caring and competent servant leaders transforming communities worldwide. The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness.

What is Hazen‘s Key Club? Hazen Key Club is a part of Division 32, which is composed of Hazen, Lindbergh, Kentlake, Kent-Meridian Kentridge, Kentwood, Renton and Tahoma. Division 32 is part of a proud Pacific Northwest district.

Greetings from the Editor Hello, once again, key-uties! I hope that the new year is treating you all well. Break went by too fast, right? Don’t worry, T-6 days until MLK Day! DCON forms are due soon so make sure you’re getting your requirements checked off! It’s never too late to get out there to volunteer and turn in those hours! Just because we’re retiring, doesn’t mean Tommy will be less merciful with hunting ya’ll down for hours. Speaking of retirement, yes, we had our 2017-18 officer elections. I’m so sad that I couldn’t rerun because now I have to run off to college (cries softly). However, the board is leaving the club in great hands with your amazing new board…which you will find out at the next meeting. Oh yeah, and don’t forget to buy Hazen Key Club shirts! You’re going to want one of our beautifully designed sweatshirts because baby, it’s cold outside. Stay warm and toasty until the next one! MUAH

In Love and Service, Kira Kusumi

Greetings from the President Hi Key Clubbers! We just had our officer elections and in three months, you will be under their leadership. In three months, DCON season comes to an end. In three months, I say farewell to my term as a president. In three months, a new perspective will be brought back to the club by the DCON attendees. DCON is an eye-opening experience if treated correctly and experienced the way it was meant to. I encourage you all to consider going and for those who are attending, I hope you come back with a new light on what Key Club really is. During the Key Club year in 2016, service was not really emphasized. But as DCON comes closer and closer, I hope to immerse this club more and more into the service aspect as well as the social. Key Club is not Key Club without both parts. Be sure to remember that.

In Love and Service, Ashley Vo

Dragon of the Month goes to‌

From reminding the officers about committees to taking all your opportunities in this club, we appreciate your diligence, determination, and passion. Keep shining bright, Ben!

Who will be the February Dragon?

Beautiful Butterfly Ben What was your favorite service event? My favorite service experience was the Jingle Bell Run in Seattle, I was grouped with my friends and we got to go around together and help people during the run. It felt really good because we knew that we were supporting a foundation that saves lives. After the event we got to have a lot of fun going around Seattle.

What's your favorite food? Sushi.

Why did you join Key Club? I joined Key Club because in middle school I heard about it from friends and it seemed really interesting as I already loved to volunteer, when I found out there was a club to volunteer with friends I knew I had to join it.

What's your spirit animal? A butterfly because I don’t like to hurt people and I’m lighthearted.
