Happy New Year to you all! I am delighted to share our latest newsletter with you and some exciting news about the continued growth of Anglo Arabian Healthcare.
S
ince the last edition, we have seen a number of changes across the group. The opening of the ground floor at Sharjah Corniche Hospital, the establishment of two new branches of PHD Laboratories in Al Barsha, Dubai and in Al Ain. We have also seen the expansion of the Doctors Medical Centre in Rolla, Sharjah and we will shortly witness the move and expansion of the Family Medical Centre clinic in Ajman. I am however, delighted to announce today, two significant developments that change the scale of our operations significantly. The first is our successful partnership with Dr. Oras in Sharjah. Dr. Oras has provided expert gynaecology and fertility advice to thousands of Emirati and expatriate patients for over 25 years and she has an enviable reputation for quality and great patient care. Dr. Oras will be joining AAH in opening two IVF centres; one in Sharjah and the other in central Dubai. These will be cutting edge facilities that will allow Dr. Oras’ patients to receive the continuum of care that they often need. It is also our hope that Dr. Oras’ two daughters will join us over the next two years as American trained Gynaecologists, to offer patients a second generation of care. We welcome the Dr. Oras team into our AAH family www.angloarabian-healthcare.com

and look forward to a dynamic and fruitful partnership. The second announcement actually alters our strategy. At the moment, we have our Concord and Amina Hospital and Clinic brands looking after our low to mid income patients. I am delighted and very proud to announce today, that we have joined hands in partnership with Dr. Kamal Akkach and the Health Bay Polyclinic Group that provides great care to high income families in Dubai with their Al Wasl road and Mirdif Clinics. Dr. Kamal and his team of nearly 30 experienced Doctors have already built an enviable reputation as Dubai’s number one independent clinic group. Contd...
INTRODUCTION Volume 1 | Issue 4 |
December - 2014
They join AAH with the shared ambition to build Health Bay into the largest and most respected high end Medical Group in Dubai and over time the UAE. Dr. Kamal recognizes that the changes happening to the Dubai market with mandatory health insurance starting this year and corporate employers and insurers dictating terms to clinic groups, that operators need scale. In joining hands in partnership, we are stronger together, we are already planning the opening of a new clinic in Motor City and building a 60,000 sq ft complex opposite the main clinics in Al Wasl Rd, Dubai. This new facility will allow specialized procedures to be provided in a new purpose built complex that will also house our new IVF centre and a major PHD radiology unit with MRI, CT and all modalities. I am delighted to have Dr. Oras and Dr. Kamal as new partners as we continue the AAH journey and I look forward to getting to know their teams over the coming months and years. With other news, I was very proud to see that PHD have successfully renewed their ISO accreditation. It is often said that maintaining these accredited certifications is harder than achieving them in the first place and to receive such glowing praise from the assessors was very encouraging. As most of you are aware, we have recently had a couple of team changes. We have seen Sundeep Chopra move on from AAH as our CFO and we would like to put on record our thanks for the incredible hard work that Sundeep had put into establishing the groups banking arrangements, our first audit with Deloitte and in particular, his leadership on the HIS implementation project. Whilst wishing Sundeep well in the future I also welcome his successor, Hani Helou
Hani Helou, Chief Financial Officer, Anglo Arabian Healthcare
as our new CFO. Hani has a long career in Corporate Finance at the highest level and is the right man to take us through the next phase of significant growth. Finally, I am glad to see that Amina Hospital is progressing well with a scheduled opening for April next year and new Doctors and nurses scheduled to join operations in March. Next year promises to be the busiest yet for AAH with new partners planning to come on board and many new ‘greenfield’ projects being planned. I would therefore, like to thank everyone for their continued hard work and support and I know we have great times ahead. With warm regards, Mark Adams Founder & CEO, Anglo Arabian Healthcare Email: mark.adams@angloarabian-healthcare.com

The new Hospital Information System is coming! Anglo Arabian Healthcare will introduce Magnum Infinity Hospital Information System across all of our Medical Centres and Hospitals in the next few months.
T
he first of its kind system Magnum Infinity HIS links all parts of a healthcare enterprise (for e.g., Outpatient and Inpatient management, EHR, LIS, RIS , revenue cycle management, financial accounting, procurement, inventory etc.) into an integrated management system for hospitals, medical centers and clinics. What is most exciting is that the system incorporates advanced IT services to realize anytime healthcare information in this growing digital era. Some of the system’s benefits include: • Paper-less centralized system provides quicker access to patient files and patient history
We chose to work with Healthfore after an extensive comparative evaluation period, owing to their good reputation and post implementation support as the system is rolled out across the group. The Magnum Infinity Implementation project is named “Kaizen”, the Japanese word for “Good Change” and is currently under user acceptance testing phase at the Ibin Sina Medical Centre.

• By managing everything from patient administrative data to clinical data and financial data, the system helps translate data into information that can be used proactively in better decision making. • Information is easily, instantly shared between the in-patient, out-patient and Emergency Department settings • Doctors and physicians can review patients’ info from anywhere as long as they have access to the internet. • Nurses and other staff members can avoid having to physically chase down laboratory reports, radiology images, doctor sign offs, etc. since information is communicated electronically • Hospital operations will be streamlined as Electronic Medical Records will to help eliminate manual, time consuming work flows.

Sharjah Corniche Hospital Group The summer and the last quarter for the Sharjah Corniche Hospital group has welcomed a number of exciting events, new departments, and our very first Continuing Medical Education conference which was a huge success.
W
e held several local community screening programs in venues that ranged from the Fruit & Vegetable Market, to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce. Across the group, we have screened over 2,000 people for blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol. We refer those that are above or below the normal ranges to our physicians within the group. We believe prevention is better than cure, and will continue to provide local communities with an opportunity to access basic medical screenings. Sharjah Corniche Hospital is pleased to welcome Specialist Paediatrician, Dr. Gaidaa Salih, to the group, as we expand our services to include a Paediatric department located on the ground floor of the hospital. The ground floor at the Sharjah Corniche Hospital was decisively created to ease up space in the other operating floors as well as to provide an essence of the Amina Hospital branding that will gradually be implemented across the existing floors. In addition, we are proud to have another renowned Paediatrician, Dr. Jai Motwani, join our team of physicians at Doctors Medical Centre. Dr. Motwani will be practicing in our brand new flat (located on the same floor as DMC) dedicated to Paediatric, Gynaecology and Dermatology services. This quarter, we placed a major emphasis on improving the quality of services within the units under the supervision of the Patient Safety and Quality Steering Group. Along with the existing Medical Director in Unicare Medical Centre: Dr Anil P M, and the newly appointed Medical Directors: Dr Waseem Alkhalil, Sharjah Corniche Hospital and Dr T.T Joseph, Doctors Medical Centre will take the responsibility to ensure the policies set by this Steering Group are implemented. Emergency equipment and methods to transfer patients were given great importance

along with training of the medical staff. By the end of 2014, we aim to ensure that all the medical staff receive Basic Life Support Training and are competent to respond to emergencies. In addition, we have rolled out patient feedback forms in each of the units, and are collecting and analyzing patient comments and suggestions in order to implement them and improve the overall level of patient services. Regular sessions of Customer Relationship Management are conducted on a monthly basis with the reception team to reinforce the importance of high quality patient care. An exciting day this year was November 2nd, where we conducted our first Continuing Medical Education conference. Due to the hard work of the marketing executives, we were pleased to welcome over 200 medical doctors to our inaugural event which saw our three expert physicians: Dr. Amer Al Badry, Specialist Internal Medicine, Dr. Alexander Krakovksy, Visiting Plastic Surgeon and Dr. AbdulRahman Alkrad, Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon lecture on topics related to the theme Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery. We are also proud to announce the appointment of Dr Amer Al Badry as the CME Director for Sharjah Corniche Hospital. Dr. Badry has held the position of CME Director in his previous engagements and we are confident that his expertise will help to shape the future of our CME events. Exciting yet challenging times lie ahead with the implementation of the HIS system across the group, and the expansion of services in Doctors Medical Centre.

Proficiency Healthcare Diagnostics CME – November 2014 PHD proudly conducted its first ever 3-City International CME which was a phenomenal success. The seminars were held from Nov 17-19, 2014 in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain, respectively with the home base of Abu Dhabi seeing the largest turnout of over 150 delegates.
T
he CMEs followed a very interesting theme titled ‘Thrombophilia Complications in Pregnancy and Infertility issues’. Guest speakers Dr Jose Manuel Soria, Dr Alexandre Blanco and Shireen Safwat Sherif lectured on topics that were carefully chosen to update participants’ knowledge of latest advancements in diagnostic testing of thrombophilia and resultant complications in pregnancy and tests to diagnose infertility. Dr Jose Manuel Soria, a seasoned guest lecturer, is the Director of Unit of Genomics of Complex Diseases at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain, while Dr Alexandre Blanco is the international Area Manager for Ferrer inCode. Shireen Safwat Sherif is the Medical Marketing Manager for Roche Diagnostics Middle East, who was also our medical partner at the event.
The success of the CME was largely due to the hard work of the PHD team including the sales team, who maintain excellent relationships with the medical community. The delegates in all three cities included an interesting mix of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, IVF specialists, Lab technicians, Internal Medicine specialists and Medical lab technologists, who participated in productive discussions. The feedback from the delegates has been very positive especially with reference to the speakers and the topics, with many delegates requesting that PHD conduct similar seminars on a regular basis. The CME team at PHD is already at work and the next series of seminars are shaping up well! Cynthia Mascarenhas Marketing & Events Manager, AAH Email: cynthia.m@angloarabian-healthcare.com

The AAH recruitment team participates in the Arab Health Recruitment & Training Fair, October-2014 The inaugural recruitment fair by Informa Life Sciences, the organisers of Arab Health Exhibition, was held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from October 18 – 20 and attracted over 5000 healthcare professionals from a range of disciplines and specialities.
T
he AAH Recruitment team successfully built an excellent database of over 850 candidates from within the healthcare industry including Physicians, Nurses, Allied health professionals and various other non-clinical and management level applicants. The team has been diligently working with the database and has filled the post of Director of Nursing and a few other managerial positions. The fair also hosted 18 free-to-attend CME seminars, most of which were accredited, giving healthcare professionals access to free education. One of the key objectives of our participation was to increase awareness of the Anglo Arabian Healthcare brand and its ever growing group of assets. However, we were pleasantly surprised to note that many of the applicants came to the fair to specifically meet the AAH recruitment team. The fair was an effective platform to connect us with the right candidates, who we aim to recruit in a cost effective manner. Hence we are very happy to have confirmed our participation at the Arab Health Recruitment and Training Fair in 2015.
We are also extremely grateful to all our colleagues for their help and support in making our participation a tremendous success and we look forward to the next edition of the fair.

P
artnering together for our first successful event, Health Bay Polyclinic and the Wheel of Care team successfully provided medical care for the participants of the Dubai Women’s 5K Run on November 7th 2014. Luckily, there were no accidents, but our Mobile Healthcare unit was there to treat minor injuries. We would like to extend a very special thank you to the wonderful team of nurses from the Wheel of Care and Health Bay Polyclinic, and especially to Dr. Kamal for providing his support along with helping to treat the runners. We look forward very much to working closely with the Health Bay Polyclinic team in future events.

nurses were on hand to treat everything from cuts, deep scratches, fractures and lots of bruises. Being such a competitive and grueling race, there were many injuries to be expected and yet no one anticipated sending 4 people off to hospital to be treated for a broken finger, another with a broken collar bone, one with a low deep abdominal cut and another with a deep cut to his finger! Neither the nursing team, or the organisers had any idea that this event would generate so many injuries and the Wheel of Care team were proud of the level of medical treatment and support we were able to give to participants.

Central Marketing Activity Update Since September, our calendar of activities has been packed with events and campaigns. This hectic pace will continue for the next couple of months leading to the Arab Health Fair in January 2015, where we anticipate exciting new announcements to be made.
A
fter the frantic pace of the first two quarters of the year and since the last edition of Healthworks, the Marketing Department entered a typical ‘slow period’ of summer months and Ramadan. During this time, our team put together a series of videos on health tips while fasting. Doctors from Sharjah Corniche Hospital and Ibin Sina Medical Centre were featured in several videos lasting 2-3 minutes each, in which they advised viewers on disciplined and healthier ways to fast. These videos were shared on our social media channels and were viewed over 500 times! The team was extremely active with conducting free health screen camps and awareness talks, which are instrumental in helping people with minimal access to healthcare to understand and monitor their health. These camps were held in association with Sharjah Economic Department, Chamber of Commerce Sharjah, City University College of Ajman, Lulu Hypermarket - Ajman, St. Michaels Catholic Church - Sharjah among others. Many more such camps are planned for the rest of the year. Ibin Sina Medical Centre was the preferred medical partner at a marathon conducted by the Ministry of Labour - Umm Al

Quwain. Moreover, several doctors from our network were featured on live, call-in TV and radio shows, over the summer months. September saw us focus on promoting the Cardiology departments across our assets with World Heart Day falling on the 29th. We partnered with the Preventive Medicine department of the Ministry of Health, Sharjah and hosted a medical screening camp for MOH employees. Dr. Emad Al Nounou, Specialist Cardiologist from Sharjah Corniche Hospital highlighted the alarming rise of heart disease in the UAE and educated the MOH employees on lifestyle changes and prevention methods. Simultaneously, we ran a month long campaign at the Sharjah Corniche Hospital where patients received a free screen for blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI. October = Hectic. As one of our busiest months in the year, October typically sees awareness activities related to breast, cervical and ovarian cancer reach a feverish pitch, everywhere. This year, we focused on encouraging women, regardless of age, race or health history to do a self- breast exam in order to truly understand and know their bodies, and become sensitive to any changes.

Health Bay End of Year Celebration 2014
O
n a perfect winter evening at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, the AAH and Health Bay Polyclinic Group families came together for the first time to celebrate our newly formed partnership. We mingled and got to know our new colleagues from Health Bay, which included their doctors, nurses, management and administration staff. Dr. Kamal Akkach, and Mark Adams spoke to the 200 people in attendance introducing themselves to new faces, and proudly speaking about coming together and working as a team. This was followed by a delicious barbeque buffet, and a wonderful music selection that kept us on the dance floor.

December - 2014
Nourish - By Julie Adams One late evening in September 2014, Mark and I received a desperate SOS asking us and AAH for help and advice. We had known Robbie Stokes only in his capacity as an Executive Chef who helped me to organise a menu for Mark’s 50th Birthday party in 2013. We had never met his family. However, the cry for help was despairing and far too much for us to ignore.
R
obbie’s wife Claire had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 aged 34 and just three weeks after their son Ethan was born. After Claire’s initial chemotherapy treatment in June 2012, the family was told that the cancer had returned and further treatment had to start immediately. When the family later discovered that Robbie’s company health insurance had been slashed to save on premiums and that their annual family medical cover had been reduced from 1.3M AED to just 100,000 AED, they realized that they could not afford to continue with Claire’s chemotherapy treatment. By the time Chef Robbie got in touch with us for advice, Claire’s cancer had become terminal spreading into her lymph, bones and liver. Insurance cover ran out at the end of October. Determined not to see this family suffer, Mark and I decided that we would try to raise enough money to pay for 1 year of chemotherapy treatment; around 300,000 AED. When I awoke the following morning, I had the whole concept in my head and set to work to bring the dream into a reality; Nourish and the Chefs United had been born.
The simple philosophy of Nourish and the Chefs United alliance is to educate and demonstrate the importance of good nutrition as a preventative of illness and disease together with providing breast cancer awareness healthcare education for all women and families. Together with Chef Robbie, we quickly assembled a small group of like-minded friends that all share a common passion for cooking and eating healthy, nutritious food and met every Wednesday evening to plot and plan ahead. I quickly created a website and an identity for Nourish to ensure that information was available and organizations and individuals could get in touch with me easily. During a discussion with Claire, I asked her if she would be willing to share her story of living and fighting breast cancer so that other women could understand why nutrition was so important. Claire is a very strong lady and was very keen to go ahead even though she knew her story was heartbreaking and ultimately, would not have a happy ending.
The Health Bay Polyclinic team led by Dr. Kamal and his wife Dr. Rita were more than happy to offer unflinching support to the initiative as were the Mediclinic group, who rallied around together with the AAH team to ensure this event was a great success. The Fairmont on the Palm donated a ballroom and the use of their kitchens, equipment and catering staff whilst others gifted all the food and ingredients, the flowers, musicians, entertaining equipment, sound and lighting, goodie bag gifts, professional photography services, audio and visual. It was staggering!
Claire’s Story is now available to watch in three episodes on the Nourish You Tube Channel and has been incredibly well received, not only for Claire’s bravery and determination to share her story but to help other people appreciate the importance of healthy nutrition.

Twelve big-hearted Executive Chefs, the very best in Dubai and celebrated across the world, pledged their support to Nourish and the Chefs United – Even the Australian Master Chef team sent a message of support for us to play on the night! Each Chef presented four dishes but one of them, had to follow the ‘Nourish’ tradition of no sugar, no chemicals, organic, gluten free and no processed ingredients – all natural, all nutritious. Chef Gary Rhodes also joined the Chefs United teams on the night and added that magical ingredient of ‘Celebrity’ much to the delight of 330 of our guests. The evening was a glittering triumph and throughout it all, Claire shone so brightly, her smile lighting up the room. In just over six weeks, we had achieved something very, very special and this will live in my heart as a lesson of what is possible if you believe in your dreams and don’t give up.

his year, through an innovative healthcare campaign titled ‘The Ultimate Selfie’ we scripted, directed and produced a video to educate and demonstrate to all women of the importance of carrying out regular self breast examinations correctly with a strong message that ‘Early Detection is the Best Protection’. Emphasis was placed on the fact that these examinations only take one minute to do. We were overwhelmed at the success of this campaign which resulted in over 60 shares on Facebook, and 1400 views on YouTube in just a few days. We had comments and feedback from women all around the world thanking us for showing how simple it is to conduct self-breast examinations and sharing the video with their network using the hashtag #ultimateselfie that instantly became a viral sensation on social media.

Because We Care Anglo Arabian Healthcare partners with the Ajman Municipality and Umm Al Moumineen Women’s Association for the very first Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon, October 2014
H
eld under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman, the annual ‘Because We Care’ Breast Cancer Awareness campaign has been organised by the Ajman Municipality and Umm Al Moumineen Women Association, since 2012. This year, the campaign grew bigger and better with the participation of the Anglo Arabian Healthcare- owned Ibin Sina Medical Centre in Ajman, who were the medical partners and supporters of the campaign. Several hundred women and school children, sporting pink caps and carrying pink balloons, walked down Al Zahir Street, from Rashidiya Ladies Park to the Umm al Moumineen Women’s Association, cheering all the way to show their support for the campaign. The walk culminated with a balloon release at the Umm Al Moumineen Women’s Association grounds. The sight of pink balloons floating away into the sky was truly dramatic and signified the importance of women informing and reminding each other to regularly perform self-breast exams. The noble initiative was graciously supported by the Director General of the Ajman Municipality who participated in the balloon release and signed the ‘Wall of Support’ to commemorate the campaign. Reinforcing the belief that ‘Early Detection is the Best Protection’, Dr Hanan Helmy of New Ibin Sina Medical Centre, also a part of Anglo Arabian Healthcare, guided women on how to do self-breast exams. “Regular self-

checks can help women to detect early signs and take immediate measures to prevent and cure”, said Dr. Helmy. Free breast screenings were also offered as part of the event.

Mark Adams, CEO of Anglo Arabian Healthcare spoke about the importance of building awareness, educating and empowering women on the importance of Breast Cancer awareness. “Whilst most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to stay vigilant of any changes through performing regular self breast examinations. As early detection is the best prevention, I encourage all women to learn how to self examine regularly, reporting any changes to their Doctor immediately. Although we have made a lot of progress in spreading awareness of the importance of self examinations and knowing what to look for, we still have a long way to go. The aim of the ‘Because We Care’ campaign is to raise public awareness for breast cancer, knowing what to look for, how to detect it, its treatment and the need for a reliable, permanent cure in the not too distant future.” he added. Anglo Arabian Healthcare look forward to partnering with the Ajman Municipality and the Umm Al Moumineen Women’s Association in October 2015 and building upon the enormous success of the October event.

Colours of life
Personal reflections by Dr. P. C. Jacob
M
y granddaughter was very jubilant yesterday showing me the different colour sketches in her KG books. She is only four still could easily name even the subtle shades like magenta-pink which I often fumble to name. She said sky is blue, grass is green and apple is red. I remembered how I taught my children long ago to name the primary colours often showing them a red apple; but is the apple red and sky blue? Sir Isaac Newton seemed to have a fascination for apples; sitting under an apple tree he saw apples falling down to the ground because of gravitational force but the wise man also said apple is not red and it has no colour. The gravity guru guided the sunrays through a prism and proclaimed that everything in this universe is colorless; only the light gives them the colours and the colour is a phenomenon of perception and an aspect of our vision, he added. Scientists believe that colours as we see are illusions created by the interaction of billions of neurons in our brain and that’s why Newton said there is no “red” in an apple, only the apple skin reflects that particular wavelength of red while absorbing the rest. Now it’s known that colour is created by our visual cortex utilizing the two fundamental

properties of light, energy and wave length and that the reflected light energy from the outer surface of objects are absorbed by the light sensitive photoreceptors of our eye, the rods and cones which convert the light energy to neural signals which travel to the visual cortex where they are processed and programmed to produce the illusion of colours and contrasts. Drifting off the dogmata of chromatics to the simple facts of life, we always want to enjoy nature as kaleidoscope of colours that soothes and stimulates us and we are inclined to and influenced by the colours, often unknowingly. The newborn babies cannot appreciate the colours till about the fourth month of life but from the very moment of birth they are bundled up in blue or pink sleepers and blankets and they grow up with brightly coloured blocks and toys constantly nourishing their immature senses. Through the windows of my high-rise apartment often I gaze at the blue sky with the numerous white clouds drifting far away and the blue waves of the Arabian Sea rhythmically embracing the white sandy shores but I hate to apply the laws of light to this vibrant world to strip off its beauty. I believe everything is colourful in this world; I just want to see the sky as blue, grass as green and the apple

as red because colour thrills my heart, feeds my senses, calms my mind and ignites my imagination. Generations have experimented with the concepts of colour and the ancient Egyptians were the pioneers. The healing and relaxing properties were extensively exploited by the early civilizations till the Greeks to whom colour was only an aspect of science and Hippocrates denounced the metaphysical halo around the colour concepts. But the colour trails have survived the stampede of time and today Colour Psychology and Colour Therapy are widely practised all over the modern world. Indians celebrate with pomp and gaiety the annual festival of colours and red is adored as the colour of joy and good luck in Chinese New Year celebrations. Gone are the days when the noble colours were expensive and exclusively used only by the elite of the society. Now colour is a part of everybody’s daily life and we have a positive approach to colours. The marketing and branding pundits have mastered the mantras and tantras of colour, they learnt that the language of colour is communicated fast to the brain and it appeals to the emotions and the best example is evident in the red-yellow eye-catching logo of McDonald’s; the fast, hot and challenging red and the yellow imparting satisfaction and happiness alongside. Colours affect us differently, evoke diverse emotions and modulate our moods. Red accelerates our heart, raises our blood pressure and the Blue has a dousing effect on our emotions. Orange is warm, promotes well being and boosts immunity, Green is the healing colour that

Why is Sudoku so much fun?
B
ecause it’s not just a matter of solving the puzzle, but each of the 81 spaces you fill in will feel like a victory in itself. In fact, Sudoku is often referred to as addictive. Sometimes you pick up a puzzle and you just can’t put it down. You may find that when you have solved a Sudoku puzzle, maybe even your first one, you feel great because you solved it, but sad because it’s over. What to do? Grab another puzzle and get started on that one. It happens all the time.

Editor’s Note
I
hope that you have enjoyed the last Health Works newsletter of 2014 and that you have found it full of interesting, thought provoking and enjoyable articles and features.
2014 is now quickly drawing to a close and our thoughts are turning to what the future holds in the New Year. Perhaps there are some of us that are busy making lists or resolutions in order to improve ourselves, perhaps striving to be calmer, more organised, happier, healthier, slimmer or even, more successful. Anglo Arabian Healthcare has come a long way in such a short space of time and as we, as a company grow, we encounter new opportunities every day where we can decide to make a change for the better, however small. The choices we make for progress can come from a conscious, practical decision or it can come from something as simple as a decision to smile at our colleagues and wish them a good day. Every conscious effort we make to do something positive for others, or ourselves, will surely create a little improvement in happiness. Working hard and long hours can be difficult but if each of us chooses to make a small effort for positive change, I believe that, together as a TEAM, we can move mountains! Certainly, 2014 has been another incredibly busy year but we have begun to see the fruits of our labors through our peers in the healthcare industry recognizing our strength and evergrowing presence in the market. Being nominated for awards, winning others and reading exciting articles in the national press
