Quilting is our passion...make it yours.

But crochet remained a mystery to me. My students would ask me to teach them to crochet and I would (regretfully) have to decline.

Finally, a year and half ago, I said to myself, “I am going to learn to crochet or die!” To crochet or not to crochet, that was the question…and not to…was NOT an option.

As it turned out, a brush with death was not an option nor was it necessary. All it took was one quick lesson from crocheter, Marni MacLeod and I FINALLY GOT IT! I can crochet and now I am HOOKED! The three dimensional quality of crochet has no bounds. A hook and yarn does not limit you to one plane, as in knitting. The hook can take the yarn in any direction you want. I can make the fabric go up, down, in or out. Now that’s knitwear architecture! z

On April Fools Day, Astor Tsang figuratively smashed a bottle of champagne on her computer when she launched her web site, www.knittingAstor.com. The “Fools Day” part was that her computer crashed 10 days later.

Later this fall, Astor will have patterns available for sale on her site, making her a true E-Commerce Knitwear Architect. In future, she hopes to have a sister web site, www.crochetAstor.com.
