Ansbach Family & Morale, Welfare & Recreation

Greetings Neighbor, Thank you for picking up this copy of the Family and MWR Summer program guide. We look forward to a summer of great events and services to welcome our newest community members to beautiful Franconia. Our enduring community members will also find great new events, trips, classes, and programs to help you get the most out of your time in Ansbach. •

We celebrated the Grand opening of the Automotive Skills Center on Urlas on April 26th. If you haven’t yet checked out this state of the art facility, please do so. Summer is a great time for washing both your car and your dog!

Come celebrate the Army’s birthday while paying tribute to our Army heroes with the Run for the Fallen on June 13th.

Two great events are planned for the Independence Day Fest starting with a concert by the band Korn on July 2nd. Return on the 4th for games, refreshments, and great music featuring American Music Abroad and the Britta T Country Band. Stay for the fireworks show to complete your traditional Independence Day celebration.

Sesame Street is coming to Ansbach! There will be two shows on July 17th at the Katterbach Fitness Center.

Please turn to page 20 for the full listing of the extensive programs Army Community Service has available for all our community members. I encourage newcomers to check out “Destination Ansbach”, a great program to help you get acquainted with your new home in Germany.

We are always interested in hearing your suggestions to improve our services. Please use the ICE system or email your comments directly to me: dan.riley@us.army.mil. Thank you for letting us serve you in your Family and MWR program.

Transfers If you are transferring to US Army Garrison Ansbach from another Army garrison, you do not have to start a brand new registration at your new location. You can visit your current Parent Central Services office and request an export of your household file. Your basic information will be waiting for you upon arrival US Army Garrison Ansbach. To complete your new or transferred registration, you will need to visit the Parent Central Services Office so we can update local information. Hand carry copies of immunizations and any health records with you.

Child Care Due to the limited number of full-and part-time spaces in our delivery system, it is sometimes necessary for families to be placed on a waiting list for child care. The waiting period will be different for each program and age group, and may fluctuate due to various factors. Registration is not required to place your child on our waiting list. Children on the waiting list are assigned a priority according to your employment status. If your employment status changes after you place your child on the waiting list, please notify the Parent Central Services office. Waiting list application status must be updated with Parent Central Services every 90 days.
