Fall Colors Hike in Oberstdorf

Arrive early Saturday morning and visit the famous city sites such as the Charles Bridge and the Market Square. Located at the entrance to Urlas and Shipton Kaserne, Soldiers Lake is open daily for fishing from sunrise until sunset except for the Wed-Sat prior to a monthly fishing event. Closed on the following dates: Sep 11-14 and Oct 1-5. Also available at Soldiers Lake: pavilion and volleyball area as well as fishing equipment rental.

German Hunting Course

This 60-hour course is offered to U.S. citizens 18 years and older and teaches land and game management, game disease and harvest plans. Private group classes can be arranged with a minimum of 10 students. Fall class runs Oct 15-Dec 14.

A mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, personnel, and respite care services to Families with special needs.

The ACS Center is a centralized facility providing comprehensive, coordinated and responsive readiness service to support Commanders, Soldiers, Civilians and Families.

Family Advocacy Program (FAP)

A congressionally-mandated program for abused dependents of military personnel. Legislation authorizes temporary payments for Families in which the active duty Soldier has been separated administratively or by court-martial for a dependentabuse offense. The TC Program offers benefits and entitlements for 12-36 months to eligible Family members. During this benefit period, beneficiaries are provided temporary financial compensation and are eligible to receive medical care, including behavioral health services such as TRICARE beneficiaries. Recipients will also have commissary and exchange privileges during this period.

Volunteer Services Branch

FAC Centers operate 24/7 and are established by garrison commanders under the auspices of ACS in response to deployments, natural disasters or catastrophic events to assist Soldiers and Family members with basic services. Other agencices may be asked to participate in the FAC as local needs dictate. The National Guard operates FACs for Families who are geographically dispersed and located in remote sites.

The Army FAP is committed to preventing domestic violence and child abuse and neglect by providing a variety of services to strengthen Army Families and enhance resiliency. The FAP includes prevention, identification, reporting, investigation, and treatment in support of Soldiers and Families.

• New Parent Support Program (NPSP)

Provides professional social workers and nurses who offer supportive and caring services to military Families with children from birth to three years of age. Through a variety of programs including home visits and parenting classes, the NPSP provides opportunities to learn to cope with stress, isolation, post-deployment, reunions, and the everyday demands of parenthood. The program is committed to developing strong Army Families, and the prevention and treatment of Family violence. Its coordinated efforts are designed to prevent and intervene in cases of Family distress and to promote healthy Family life.

Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC) SFAC provides customized integrated support services dedicated to serving Warriors in Transition (WTs) and their Families. The SFAC uses a “one-stop shop” approach to equip and aid Warriors in making life changing decisions as they transition either back to duty or to civilian life. SFAC staff realize individual needs require individual attention and strive to provide tailored, compassionate, and coordinated seervices. These services are offered in a warm, relaxed environment where Soldiers and their Families can gather to foster physical, spiritual and mental healing.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS)

• Victim Advocacy

Provides 24/7 services for victims of domestic violence. Victims have access to emergency assistance, information, referrals, and ongoing support in accessing medical, behavioral health, legal, and law enforcement services on and off garrisons. Available for both restricted and unrestricted reports.

• Prevention Education

Promotes community support and encourages early referral. Components include: Commander Education, Troop Education, Education for Professionals, Parent Education and Support, Safety Education (protecting children, listening to and talking to children, child abuse prevention techniques, and a variety of safety related topics including but not limited to bullying and exploitation) geared towards children, Spouse Abuse Prevention, Victim Advocacy Services and Family Life Education.

A multi-agency approach which embraces and reassures survivors that they are continually linked to the Army Family for as long as they desire. SOS fosters resiliency and ensures access to all entitled benefits, financial counseling/planning and long term support.

Employment Readiness Program (ERP)

Military Family Life Consultants (MFLC)

Army OneSource (AOS)

Provides employment assistance to active duty, reserve component, transitioning and retired Soldiers, Family members, and DoD Civilian employees in acquiring skills, networks, and resources that will allow them to participate in the work force and develop a career/ work plan.

A key outreach service to Soldiers and Families. Enhanced community Family support services by offering licensed clinical social workers and psychologists to address various issues that Soldiers and Families face before and after deployment. A network of services available to Soldiers and their Families regardless of their component or geographical location. Key players work in strategic partnerships to extend and expand support to those identified within the Soldier Family Action Plan and the Army Family Covenant, namely the geographically dispersed. Partnerships with sister services increase and sustain support to those not living near a garrison. Army Soldiers and Family members may access programs and services in three ways: Traditional brick and mortar establishments at garrisons, a web-based portal, and partnerships with local community and government organizations.

Military Spouse Employment Partnership Program (MSEP) A self-sustaining and expanding partnership between the U.S. Army and Corporate America. The partnership provides Army spouses the opportunity to attain financial security and achieve employment/ career goals through mobility and enhanced employment options. MSEP is a core component of the Employment Readiness Program to enhance and develop employment opportunities for spouses.

Financial Readiness Program (FRP) Provides comprehensive educational and counseling programs in personal financial readiness. The program covers indebtedness, consumer advocacy and protection, money management, credit, financial planning, insurance and consumer issues. Other services offered are mandatory financial readiness training for first-termers, and financial counseling for deployed Soldiers and their Families.

• Army Emergency Relief (AER) Provides assistance for unexpected and financial stress to include: travel, housing, car repair, utilities, medical expenses, funeral costs, family member dental care, basic furniture needs, rental and replacement vehicles and disaster relief. AER is offered as part of the continuum of services in financial readiness.

Mobilization and Deployment Readiness Program (MOB/DEP) Includes program and support activities designed to assist leaders at all levels and Soldiers and their Families to successfully manage the challenges of mobilization and deployments before, during and after they occur.

Operation R.E.A.D.Y. (Resources for Educating About Deployment and You) Standardized training curriculum used by the MOB/DEP program and designed to prepare leaders, Soldiers, deployed Civilians, and Families for the personal and Family demands of the deployment cycle.

Relocation Readiness Program (RRP) Relocation Readiness assistance is provided to Soldiers and Families to help reduce or eliminate problems arising due to frequent moves. Specialized programs and services include: individual or group counseling, sponsorship and pre-arrival information, mandatory overseas briefings and post-move orientations, lending closet services, Military Homefront web-pages on DoD website, Citizenship Immigration Services, multi-cultural programs, and “Hearts Apart” activities for waiting Families. Garrison commanders chair multidisciplinary Relocation Assistance Coordinating Committees (RACC) to stay abreast of issues and remedy emerging concerns.

Tools and information for parents to determine whether youth are ready to stay home alone and to prepare youth to be home alone.

We are your “One Stop Shop” for child care programs and services in US Army Garrison Ansbach. You can call us and make an appointment to suit your needs or just come on by. Bring all of the required documents and information with you.

Who is eligible?

Parent Advisory Council Meetings

Children of active duty military personnel, reservists and National Guard on active duty and during inactive duty training, Department of Defense (DoD) appropriated and non-appropriated civilian personnel and DOD contractors working on in US Army Garrison Ansbach may use services provided by CYS Services delivery systems.

Workshop designed to equip teens, 13 years and older, with the knowledge and skills to babysit in the community. CPR and First Aid offered. Gather current information, provide input and build a partnership with CYS Services programs. PAC meetings are scheduled on a quarterly basis and open to all parents. Please contact your Program’s Director for times, dates and locations.

Parent Participation Program

An incentive program designed to benefit everyone. Parent’s can earn a 10% fee reduction for volunteering in a CYS Services program for a minimum of 10 hours.

Family Readiness Group Presentations

Learn how CYS Services can support you during a deployment. Month of the Military Child Educational Opportunities and workshops available throughout the year. Contact the Parent & Outreach Director for more information and to set up child care for your FRG events.

What documents do I need in order to register? • Proof of eligibility, DOD ID, Military ID, or contractor civilian ID card • Sponsor name, local address, home telephone number, duty station and telephone • Spouse name, duty station/work telephone number • Child shot records • Leave and Earning Statements (LES) and/or pay stubs for both sponsor and spouse • Two emergency contacts (other than sponsor or spouse) • Completed Special Needs Screening Tool for each child-DA Form 7625-1 • (Note: If a child has been diagnosed with any dietary restrictions, allergies, asthma, is taking ongoing medication or has any other special needs, a Medical Action Plan (MAP) will be required and a Special Needs Accommodation Process evaluation meeting may be scheduled. Prior to receiving CYS Services care, a SNAP team will review the case and recommended CYS Services care placement. • Proof of school enrollment (if the spouse is enrolled as a full time student)

Information to be provided within 30 days of initial registration: • Family Care Plan short-term release designee (for single/ dual military and deployable civilian families • Current physical/health assessment signed and stamped by a medical representation.

Sports At the time of enrollment in any sport, child/youth must possess a health assessment/sports physical that’s valid throughout the entire sports season (physicals valid for one year from the date of the health provider’s signature). The health assessment/sports physical must certify that the individual is physically able to participate in sport/activity and address any pertinent medical conditions or constraints, i.e., asthma, heart murmur, allergies.

Transfers If you are transferring to US Army Garrison Ansbach from another Army garrison, you do not have to start a brand new registration at your new location. You can visit your current Parent Central Services office and request an export of your household file. Your basic information will be waiting for you upon arrival US Army Garrison Ansbach. To complete your new or transferred registration, you will need to visit the Parent Central Services Office so we can update local information. Hand carry copies of immunizations and any health records with you.

Child Care Due to the limited number of full-and part-time spaces in our delivery system, it is sometimes necessary for families to be placed on a waiting list for child care. The waiting period will be different for each program and age group, and may fluctuate due to various factors. Registration is not required to place your child on our waiting list. Children on the waiting list are assigned a priority according to your employment status. If your employment status changes after you place your child on the waiting list, please notify the Parent Central Services office. Waiting list application status must be updated with Parent Central Services every 90 days.

Helpful Information: • All schools are on post and are Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) . • There are two elementary schools in the Ansbach area and one on Storck Barracks. • Elementary schools are kindergarten to 6th grade. • Location of the family quarters, not the sponsor’s place of duty or work, determines which school children attend and their eligibility for transpor tation. • The only Middle/High School (grades 7-12) is located on Katterbach and pulls from all three elementary schools. • Bus transportation is provided to and from the Army Lodging to Katterbach and Barton schools. • In addition to a completed registration packet, parents will need to provide the school with: • Sponsor’s Orders and Orders with student’s name. • Birth Certificate (for kindergarten and 1st graders only). • Student’s up-to-date immunization record • Copies of student records or transcripts from previous school.

School Liaison Officers: • Have strong educational backgrounds and are knowledgeable about school-related issues on the installation and in the local school district. • Serve as the primary advisor to the Commander on matters relating to schools and school support services. • Build relationships and facilitate communication among the Command, Army Families and the local school community. • Coordinate school support services at the installation. • Inform and assist parents with school transition and deployment challenges. • Establish school and community partnerships. • Facilitate access to homeschool resources for parents. • Provide information about college and other post secondary opportunities and preparation materials.
