LOUIS IS CONFIDENT L
ouis Oosthuizen expressed a great deal of confidence after his second-place finish at the prestigious WGC Dell Match Play in Austin, Texas. Relying on a G LS Tec driver and G fairway wood, he won six matches on his way to the final against the world #1. His performance vaulted him to 11th in the Official World Golf Ranking and earned him more than $1 million in prize money. With a recent victory under his belt and two high finishes, the South African is upbeat about the state of his game as the year’s first major approaches. “The game is good for Augusta,” said Oosthuizen, who was runner-up to Bubba Watson at the Masters in 2012. “Augusta is on everyone’s minds right now, and it’s shaping up very nicely.”

G SERIES #1 SELLER, #1 WITH PING PROS
I
n less than a month on the market, G drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons were the #1 sellers (units and dollars) in their respective categories for February in the on- and off-course retail channels combined, according to Golf Datatech LLC, which tracks golf equipment sell-thru data for the United States. Tour acceptance for the
G driver and fairway woods has been swift, with the majority of PING staff players around the world switching to the new clubs immediately, including Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen. Both have already won with a G driver and fairway wood. “We’re very appreciative that golfers continue to put their confidence in our latest technology,” said
PING Chairman & CEO John A. Solheim about the new G Series, which arrived in golf shops on February 11. “At the tour level, the early wins with G products have provided validation at the game’s highest level that the new lineup offers unmatched performance.”
