WOODS POWER WIN
W
ith a G driver and fairway woods, Seamus Power earned his first victory on the Web.com Tour at the United Leasing & Finance Championship. He was the only player to be bogey free in the final round, winning at -12 (69-70-70-67) to set a tournament record. The 29-year-old Irishman also relied on a custom-milled Anser putter (see story below). Power reached -12 with a birdie on 17, the second-toughest hole. “The finish was playing very, very difficult, so to pick one up at 17 was a huge bonus,” he said. A par-saving up-and-down on 18 (he was #1 in scrambling for the week), gave him the number he needed.

PING PROS FAVORING CUSTOM PUTTERS
S
eamus Power became the first Irish player to win on the Web.com Tour on Sunday, and his national pride was reflected in the personalized putter he used, his name and the PING logo decorated in the colors of Ireland’s flag.
His custom-milled Anser putter is similar to one played by Bubba Watson, who has long been a fan of colored lettering. At the Masters, Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen debuted custom-milled prototype mallet-style heads.
