The self initiated project that had been chosen was a also a live project. A portfolio website for a famous fashion photographer in Nasik. To cater to this project it required in depth research and development of ideas. Execution of these ideas with validation helped produce an ideal website as per the client’s needs. A design process was followed and now documented. The project will help the client widen his spread in the industry and also help him organise and depict his profession online.

Project Context
Kiran Mali is known to be as one of the best fashion and wedding photographers in Nasik. To sustain the competition and remain on the top, creating a portfolio website will give Kiran (client) his own identity and platform. A portfolio website will help Kiran’s customers to get an insight of his profession and work life. The website will also act as a proof of social existence.Through the means of the website the client will be able to put into words what he would want his customers to read about him.The most significant feature of the website will be to showcase the client’s work. The idea for this project was propelled as it will help Kiran (client) organise, display and document. Also a portfolio in a form of a website instead of a print media will enable room for updating and upgrading the website content.
A portfolio website will be beneficial when the client would want to update his work from time to to time when he has new new and better data. The process of showcasing work and samples to the client’s customers will easier. The website will make the client more approachable by adding a contact options. The website will also speak of the client and his his life, and will be made sure that it is constantly updated. Organising and documenting works from the past will get easier for the client. Having a portfolio website will also add up more character to an image the client carries in the industry along with promoting his works.

CONCLUSION
It was an exciting experience to take up a live project as my self initiated project as a college assignment. It was a very energy consuming process to plan everything and making sure of its execution. The whole experience also gave me an insight to what it would take and be like to work in the real time industry. Since the client was from another city, the biggest challenge was to coordinate with him. It took a lot of phone calls and a physical visit to the city to collect data and information for the project. Due to the shortage of time, making an effective plan and sticking to it was very mandatory. It was also important to learn how to conduct interviews so as to understand your subject’s personality. Building a set of right questions was also crucial. With the completion of this project I understood the need of understanding the client before starting with the design construction. The project also taught me how to research for a particular topic methodically followed by how to then segregate the acquired data accurately as per your requirements. The project also gave me a sense to deal with real time clients and how to conduct self as a graphic designer in the industry.
