OVERVIEW
The problem
Lack of affordable commute options from Karnavati University Karnvati University (KU) is a private university offering undergraduate and post graduate degrees in management, design, law, liberal arts, commerce, media studies and dentistry through its five constituent colleges namely Karnavati School of Dentistry (KSD); Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID) ;Unitedworld School of Law (UWSL); Unitedworld School of Business (UWSB) ;Unitedworld School Of Liberal Arts and Mass Communications (USLM) . The University is located near a small village - Uvarsad which is about 5kms away from Gandhinagar City. Students at the University tend to have a lot of college assigned projects that needs them very often to go to local destinations. Therefore making vehicular transport a part of the student’s day to day life at the college. Students also commute from college for their personal reasons as it is hard for them to meet all their needs in the village of Uvarsad.
Since the university also has students from pan India who live away from their homes at the college hostels or as paying guests, they tend not to get their private vehicles to this place which reasons to why a lot of students are dependent on other means of transport from the college. A lack of public transport and desire for comfort, makes the use of private transport is extensive. Private transport at the same time happens to be an expensive option but due to unavailability of other transport substitutes students are left with no other options.

Benefits of pool transport
Reduce your carbon footprint – According to rideshare.com, every car annually emits its own weight in carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carpooling reduces that amount significantly. If you carpool to and from work, you could probably cut your transportation emissions number in half, or even better.
highways. As more people take part in carpooling programs or organize carpools within their workplaces, overall traffic congestion will decrease, which reduces fuel consumption, commute time, and the cost of road repairs.Prolong the life of your vehicle. Shared driving puts fewer miles on your own car and lesser worries about fuel Hikes
Usable commute time – If you drive to work alone every day, the time spent behind the wheel is essentially wasted. Driving demands our complete attention, which means it’s difficult to be productive with your time on the road. Riding in a carpool allows you to check and answer email, read the news, check bank balances, or even close your eyes for a few minutes before starting your day. Save money – In addition to the money you’ll save by using less gas, some cities have initiated programs that reward carpoolers with cash. The Clean Air Campaign, located in Georgia, motivates carpooling with money and prizes.
One of the biggest worries in a person’s life is the continuous hike on petrol prices. It is just plain nerve-wrecking. Every time you hear that the petrol prices are going to increase – all you wish you had was a large barrel, in which you could stock up on petrol! But, alas that can’t be done – you just end up emptying your pockets there!
Reduce traffic congestion – The benefits of carpooling on a large scale are huge. Every carpooling participant takes another car off the road, which means less congested roads and
Reduced stress levels-We earn so that we can live a comfortable life. But when you stop enjoying that life, spending most of your waking hours either travelling or working; you’re bound to become grumpier. The stress is just unavoidable! Life is more than just work or going to work or coming back from work. One might not be able to reduce their work stress or personal life stress, but they can for sure reduce the stress that they gather everyday while driving to and fro from work.
