Estudios de resistencia y durabilidad comparando postes de fibra de vidrio y de cuarzo ,mostraron un comportamiento favorable. Menos fracturas dentales. comparado contra pernos colado. Sistemas de fibras generan mayor estrés a nivel marginal y cervical. No generan estrés a nivel apical o zona medio de la raíz ,como si lo hacen los pernos colados( efecto cuña). Todos los sistemas de pernos prefabricados requieren mayor remoción radicular que los sistemas colados para poder adaptar el sistema. Todos los sistemas ante altas cargas mostraron descementacion.
