The APIBA Annual Seminar “Further Studies for Graduate M.T. de Alvear 1369 Teachers” will be held at the Instituto Superior (KEL S.A.) del Profesorado “Joaquín V. González” 1058 Capital Federal Rivadavia 3577 on Saturday 30th October from Tel: 4813-6884 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. E-mail: apiba99@yahoo.com On this occasion, the Association will provide a forum for the presentation of a number of options for teachers Office hours with degrees from Teacher Training Colleges. These options include Diplomas, Licenciaturas, and Master’s courses offered Tuesday 11 to 15.30 APIBA both in face-to-face and distance modes, by local and overseas Seminar universities. Representatives of the different institutions involved will make presentations, and panel discussions will be organised to provide participants with an opportunity to ask questions. The Seminar will be free of charge for APIBA Members and students (proof of status required), $25 for non-members. Voluntary contributions will be kindly accepted and raffles will be conducted. Please enrol in advance by e-mail or phone (during office hours).
Annual General Meeting & Elections Please find attached the Call for the APIBA AGM. At this Meeting, elections will be held for the posts of President and four Committee Members. Candidacies are welcome.
End of Millennium Toast After the Annual Seminar and Annual General Meeting, we will be holding the End-of-the-Millennium Toast. All Seminar participants and APIBA members are welcome!

FAAPI Scholarship The FAAPI Scholarship, won by APIBA at the FAAPI AGM in March of this year, will be raffled among APIBA members. The scholarship consists of a month’s course in England including a return flight. To qualify for the scholarship, members must comply with the following: Up-to-date APIBA dues Participation in APIBA events during the past three years Currently working as a teacher Ready to travel Willing to deliver a talk for APIBA in 2000 Current Members of the APIBA Committee are excluded from the raffle. Those interested should send (or deliver by hand) a letter to APIBA stating their qualifications and interest in the scholarship before October 15th. The envelope should be clearly labelled “FAAPI Scholarship.” The winner will be picked among those who qualify by means of a raffle notarised by Notary Public. The winner of the FAAPI Scholarship will be announced at the APIBA Annual Seminar.
News in Brief Shakespeare Conference First international conference in Argentina on William Shakespeare, his work, his times and his influence. Buenos Aires, 15 to 18 September.
