Apollonia Foundation
Theater show in Gevgelija September 19th in the Culture Center in Gevgelija was held the theater show “Brotherhood of Sultan Sulejman”, comedy directed by Grigorije Stojanovski and performed by theater from Tetovo. This play has been seen in Tetovo, Debar, Rostushe, has been presented also in Sid and Zrenanjin in Serbia and by the end of October they will perform in Skopje Theater. The show has a lot of humor and didactic moments which made it interesting for the public in Gevgelija. Apollonia Foundation organized this event for the people from Gevgelija, on the occasion of 25 years Apollonia Group.

In September the Culture Center “Makedonija” from Gevgelija, with whom Apollonia Foundation has wonderful cooperation in organizing events that improve the culture life of Gevgelija, was host of 2 more interesting events. Another theater show, Musical for children, which was seen from 500 children from the primary schools in Gevgelija, for the celebration of the Week of the child and the manifestation “Singing bazaar Gevgelija 2009” - festival of traditional and old music, songs and serenade in which more than 100 guests from four ensembles and folk groups from Macedonia participated.

Multimedia Art Festival dedicated to Bosko Bozadzievski The Association of local artistic and culture development ART EQUILIBRIUM—Gevgelija is new formed now-government organization, which pledges to raise the level of quality of the culture and art on local level, by accomplishing artistic, cultural, science, technical, humane, educational, ecological, informative and other forms of civil acting. On the 11, 12 and the 13th of September, this association organized Multimedia art Festival BOSH , which was held on various location in Gevgelija, with several different events and contents such as literature, film, music, theater, painting, sculpture art,.. Festival events: performance of the theater group Cabare 6 from Gevgelija with the show “Numbers”, open exhibition of arts by the Multimedia Center from Gevgelija, promotion of the posthumously published poetry book “Neiscrpen” from B.Bozadzievski, film workshop, projection of two modern movies: “Does it hirt “ (first balcan dogma movie) and “I know, she loves me”, musical performances of the bends: Shindev (Macedonia/Serbia), Woody Allen & HАna Jazz Trio (Skopje), Apsazdan I Calosante malooki (Gevgelija), Graham Young (Skopje), Urban Shamans (Skopje, Chemical Voodoo (Kavadarci). The Multimedia art festival was organized and dedicated to the deceased Gevgelian actor and poet Boshko Bozadzievski. Apollonia Foundation supported this 3 day festival and the activity of the association Art equilibrium, by financing the marketing and accommodation costs for this project. We are happy that more and more organizations work in the field of culture.
Nature Day in September
Before the start of the new school year, Apollonia Foundation took the children from Nature Day project on picnic in the place known as “Čafka” which is the top of the mountain Kozuf. There children had the chance to see and pick some blueberries, raspberries, herbs for tea, make beautiful bouquets from flowers, and enjoying in the most impressive view to learn how rationally to use all the treasures and wealth of the mother earth, and to protect and cherish the nature.

Exhibition of Mita Ristic in Gevgelija On 2nd of October in organization of Apollonia Foundation in the exhibitory parlor of Apollonia Hotel was opened the exhibition of Mita Ristic, artist from Vranje, Serbia. For two weeks all art admirers from Gevgelija will have the opportunity to see twenty peaces from the cycle “Sargii” of this artist. “The arts of Ristic are made on normal art canvas and they look like “sargii” creating among the lines light irruption from which glimmers painting in painting” says Boro Petrov, artist from Gevgelija who opened the exhibition. With the decision of the Ministry of culture in Serbia, these arts of Ristic from the cycle “Sargii” are declared for national treasure. “Each picture is world for itself, as well as general experience and basic impression. But, it is about adding a contrapunkt: space in space. The result can be given to the near experience of the world which surrounds the artist, his thoughts and memories, and each part of it shown as some kind of synthesis of poetical experience and organic opus of synthesising of the early occupation of one brand new way. The artist is using the adverbial ethnographical heritage as unique part of the pictures, which will possibly have more radical part later on. If the work and style are reflection of the time in which the artist lives, then, the painting of Ristic significantly fits with the m odern es thetic al terms, means and results. Nice Vasilev, artist in the Apollonia Art Commune 2009 Apollonia Foundation gives special honor to all the artist who has been part of its Art Commune by writing more about their life and work. One of the artist who participated in this year’s Apollonia Art Colony is Nice Vasilev. He was born in Dabile, near Strumica. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1978. In the class of Ludwig Macong in the academic year 1971/72 he studied at the National Arts Academy in Sofia, the department (Faculty) of Applied Arts. He had been a member of the Macedonian Association of Artists since 1980. In 2007 on the occasion of 30 years celebration of his artistic work Nice Vasilev had an exhibition in Apollonia Hotel in Gevgelija.
He has realized many individual exhibitions in Europe (Madrid, Warsaw, Athens, Ankara…), the Balkan and Macedonia. He also participated in 13 group exhibitions in France (Paris), Austria , Poland, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia… Nice Vasilev has won the following awards: 17th April Salon Award, Doboj 1973. Academy of Fine Arts Specila Awards, Warsaw 1977. Purchasee Award at the Yugoslavian Portraid exhibition, Tuzla 1987. Dimitar Pandilov Award, Association of the Artists of Macedonia Skopje, 2000.
