On the occasion of the Christmas Holidays, Apollonia Foundation, for the second time organized Children’s Christmas Workshop. The 3-day workshop was held just before Christmas in the big restaurant of Apollonia Hotel. Children from Gevgelija and the surroundings had the opportunity to make drawings, posters, decorations, to be part of the origami club or to win points in the games that we prepared for them. Every child who made
arts on his own, or won certain amount of points in the games, received lottery ticket and had a chance to win some of the toys that we had as prizes. The children from the Nature Day project had their own stand at the workshop . They presented their drawings with a message for the nature and their works of art which were made from old paper, plastic, waste or unnecessary gars from glass. On the stand was also placed a charity box, and the

money collected will be spent on materials that will supporting the activities of the children who are part of the Nature Day project. The interest between the children for taking place in these activities was very big, which made us think of making more workshops during the year.

Christmas show made by children
Pablo Picasso said that all children are artists. Children have need to create things, to sing and dance, to be in the center of your attention, just so that they win your applauses and smiles. That’s why the Christmas workshop was organized, to give children chance to express themselves. On Christmas morning a show was held with all kinds of performances like acts, classical and modern dances, live singing, and even fashion show made by many children, from the smallest to the biggest, which was the perfect way to finish the Christmas week of children's creativity. More than 60 children were part of this show: high school students, dance group “Ritam Plus”, young talented singer Petar, children from schools and Nature Day; and all people that came also had the chance to see the exhibition of all the arts that were created in the workshop. After the show there were big lotteries for all the children who participated in the Christmas workshop. Even though not everyone won a prize, we think that we made a lot of children and their parents happy during the holiday, and accomplished our goal of giving something special and fun for the children in our town. We will definitely repeat the same event next year.
High school “Josif Josifovski” part of the international TOUR.REG project Tour.Reg is a regional project for development of tourism education. The goal of this project is to reform tourist education through the development of the practically-oriented education, taking into account the needs of the market and paying attention to the latest developments in the tourism sector and especially Macedonian tourism. This project was financed by Austrian Development Cooperation. This project is implemented by KulturKontakt Austria which is one of the largest Austrian centers of competence for cultural education, arts & cultural education, cultural dialogue and educational cooperation with Eastern and South East Europe (for more information visit the following webpage www.kulturkontakt.or.at/new/index_e.htm).
The High School Josif Josifovski is one of the 6 schools partners in this project. Four teachers from the tourist classes are participating in the 13 workshops for teachers: 7 practice modules (kitchen and food, restaurant and beverages, hotel management, 1 study trip to Austria), 2 modules of teaching English for tourism, and 4 theory modules (tourism and marketing, tourist geography, study trip). We at Apollonia Foundation believe that improving education and specialization is very important for society. That’s why we participated in this project by sponsoring 500 € for covering part of the expenses for the study visit in Bad Ishal - Austria for 2 of the professors. We hope that this study visit and seminars will reflect positively and directly into the classrooms affecting the students, and will introduce new things that will improve the tourism in Gevgelija.
