We have lined up lots of fantastic sewing classes and special events to keep you busy this fall. Our new class schedule begins on page 4 with 66 fun sewing classes including 34 new ones. Monster Bag This class is designed for students who have taken Beginning Smocking, or already know how to smock. It is an easy first project for beginners, and a good review for experienced smockers. I am always learning new tips and tricks for making smocked ornaments, and I can’t wait to share them with you. This is a great one session project class just in time for Christmas! Fee $40. Come learn how to open a SewNet account, load the MySewNet program on your PC lap top and sync it with your Epic. This is the easiest quilt to make! Select several of our cotton flannels and we will pre-cut and pre-fringe the blocks for you. All you have to do is sew the blocks together! The magic happens when you wash and dry the quilt allowing the pre-fringed seam allowances to bloom. Fee $85.

This easy Christmas quilt is a perfect project for a beginning quilter or for anyone needing a quick and easy project for a gift that will be treasured for years to come. The blocks are large enough to really show off some of our new and fabulous Christmas prints. This quilt is fat quarter friendly and we’ll be happy to help you pick out fabrics that you’ll love. This fun placemat design is fat quarter friendly. Select three different fat quarters for the mini blocks and a setting fabric. Use a different layout for each placemat or make them all the same. Whether you choose nine pieced blocks, blocks cut from a panel or just beautiful feature fabrics, you will learn how to turn them into a stunning quilt using the unique “Circle of Nines” layout. We will explore how the spacer blocks add pizzazz to your project. You don’t have to tell anyone how easy it is to make 9 simple blocks look amazing! Fee $85.

Do you love to quilt but have trouble selecting fabrics that truly work well together? Then this class will help you gain the confidence and understanding you need to pull stunning quilts. This class will include an in-depth study of color theory and how it applies to fabrics. Homework exercises will help reinforce concepts studied in class. Then select your fabric for this stunning wall hanging. We will do a color paste up of the main block to check your design and then assemble your wall hanging. Class notebook included. Fee $155. 6th grader who at the age of 9 was diagnosed with a noncancerous jaw tumor. After it was surgically removed, Macy spent a year receiving daily injections and making trips to the outpatient clinic at the Women’s and Children’s

Hospital. Due to her treatments and recovery time, Macy was unable to attend school. Always a very active girl, Macy needed to find alternative hobbies. A friend of the family introduced her to the art of quilting and Macy has done an amazing amount of quilt making since that time. Beads of Courage bead bags: beads are given to children who have had serious medical problems. After each treatment, x-ray, series of labs, or doctors visit, a child will receive one Bead of Courage. Macy has made and donated 1,750 bags to the hospital. When Macy’s family donated the bags, her father said, “Macy wants the world’s best sewing machine.” The nurse said, “You do know that she qualifies for the Make-a-Wish Program?” After submitting the paperwork to Make-a-Wish, Macy’s family received notification that she would be granted her Wish! Then followed a trip to Appletree Quilting Center to pick out her new BERNINA 790E Anniversary Edition sewing machine. To honor this very special little girl and her family, BERNINA gave her a memorable trip to Chicago to visit BERNINA headquarters and to attend a quilting class with Amanda Murphy.
