At the end of the presentation, participants will have learned magic math and how to read patterns for clues. They will also have had the opportunity to convert four rotary patterns to GO! This presentation will introduce your customers to Block on Board (BOB) Dies. BOBs give quilters the ability to cut an entire block from a single die. It is perfect for beginners who might be intimidated by the cutting process. Layering different colors of fabric to make multiple block designs in one pass through the cutter will instill confidence. Whether you’re experienced in machine embroidery or a novice, Kimberbell designs are a great way to practice your basic skills or use unfamiliar products. Once you are familiar with the basic rules for machine embroidery with your Epic 2 or Epic, we’re going to find out when it’s appropriate to break the rules. We will expand our knowledge of threads, stabilizers and hooping techniques to create a design that is pleasing from both sides. Choose one of the free-standing lace bowls and learn how to hoop wash-away stabilizers, repeat a design, color block sort and color block merge. Then learn some tricks for rinsing out the stabilizers and shaping the pieces to dry properly. Fee $40 Appletree Quilting Center

Are you ready for a new challenge using your Premier+ Ultra or Premier+ 2 Ultra software? We will be putting a different twist on a traditional Baltimore Album quilt by making it all embroidery in the hoop! • Petal and leaf shading will be explored and perfected. • Different leaf veins will be used. • Baskets that truly look woven will be digitized. • Vases with lovely hand-painted effects will be featured. • Quilting in the hoop will be used. • Create a beautiful embroidered and quilted border. Ten months spent learning these techniques will make expert digitizers of us all. Class registration is $50 plus the monthly $10 class charge. Botanica Park BOM (Finished 107” x 107”)

Our new Block of the Month Quilt is Botanica Park designed by the Wing and a Prayer team of Toni Steere and Jenny Foltz and features 14 gorgeous Tonga Batiks from Timeless Treasures. This collection features a soft palette of greens, blues, blossom pinks and darker berries, plus a beautiful range of purples. The quilt highlights the colors in a traditionally pieced blooming center block surround by patchwork paths and curved sculpture garden corners. Each month Jean and Millie will provide a thorough demonstration and helpful hints for your successful completion of this stunning quilt top. Kits will be available in the colors shown or you may select your own fabrics. The fabric kit for this Block of the Month program will include all the fabrics for the top, borders, and binding. This project makes a 107” x 107” king sized quilt. The registration fee is $50. Then each month the pattern, class and fabric fee is $40 or $12 per month for pattern and class only. You may elect to attend the classes or have the kits and pattern shipped automatically. What a great way to enhance your piecing skills over the next months and create this gorgeous quilt. It’s not a quilt until it’s quilted! Join Marilyn to learn basic machine quilting techniques. Learn how to layer the quilt sandwich and quilt it with stitch-in-the-ditch and straight line quilting. If you have a programmable computerized machine, Marilyn will show you how to do mock hand quilting easily by machine. Then, if you have an embroidery machine, explore computerized quilting in the hoop. Fee $75.

Is your quilt binding lumpy and uneven with rounded corners and poor miters? Many prize worthy quilts have failed due to shoddy binding. We support a variety of different community groups and charities. Here is our schedule for the next few months: February: Bags for Books--Program for at Risk Kindergarten Readers in Columbia Public Schools. March & April: Quilts for Adults at local Medicaid Nursing Homes. May 22 & 23: 4th Annual Breast Cancer Sew-A-Thon We will be making Cancer Comfort Pillows for Breast Cancer Patients with the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. Please join us by helping for an hour or a day to give back to the community. No special skills are required, just a willingness to help. Appletree Quilting will provide the space, machines, fabric, sewing guidance, plus snacks and chocolate, of course! If you have any clean usable fabric to donate for our causes, we would greatly appreciate the donation. Bless you. Machine Guide Lessons If you purchased your Viking or BERNINA machine or software from AQC, your guide lessons are FREE and you may repeat them as often as you like (space permitting). If you purchased your machine elsewhere and would like to take your owner’s guide lessons with Appletree Quilting, you must register for the complete set of lessons provided for your particular machine or software: If the class meets: one time, the fee will be $150; two times, the fee will be $300; three times, the fee will be $450; or four times, the fee will be $600. Please register for guide classes at least one week prior to the beginning of a class series.

Class & Special Event Policies Your class fee is due at registration. This guarantees your place in class. Class size is limited. So please register early. Sometimes a great class is cancelled because people wait to the last minute to register. Each class needs a minimum enrollment at least three days before it begins. Full refunds or store credits will be issued only if the class is cancelled by AQC due to bad weather or insufficient registration. Any class cancellation made by the student must be received 7 days before the class in order to receive a store credit less a $5 processing fee; no refunds will be given. Credits or refunds are not available on special events. You will receive a class supply list upon registration. Students will receive a 15% discount off all nonsale fabrics and notions for class supplies. Please inform the sales personnel that you are buying supplies for a class.
