Welcoming the new Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Greece
On 12 January 2021, H.E. Mr. Sulaiman Hamed Almazroui, the newly accredited ambassador of United Arab Emirates to the Hellenic Republic, presented his credentials to H.E. Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, President of the Hellenic Republic. After a small ceremony, the President and the Ambassador touched upon the fruitful cooperation between Greece and the UAE in many and various fields and they both praised the steady growth of the bilateral friendly relation of the two countries. Greece and the United Arab Emirates enjoy common views and stance on many regional and international issues and their cooperation is yet another indication of their excellent relations. Ambassador Almazroui is a professional diplomat whose long services in finance and banking have enhanced his career which started in 1994 when he held the position of Chairman and Founder of the Dubai Transport Corporation, which was followed by various key positions in his country. He also represented UAE in NATO (2011-2013), acted as a Head of Mission to the EU (2011-2016) and served as UAE ambassador to Belgium (2011-2016) and non-resident to Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (2012-2016), to UK (2016-2019) and nonresident ambassador to Iceland from 2017 to 2019.
