THESIS PROJECT Public Market : A Civic Space In Dingle
BRIEF The project is a reflection of the nature of place of exchange, in terms of exchange of money, skill and knowledge. The exchange of money relates to the idea of nature of shopping, a place of everyday shopping is the supermarket or latter is popular e-commerce (i.e Amazon, Ebay). These types of transaction have lost essence of personal interaction with the buyer and seller, which can help enhance people’s knowledge through exchanging through storytelling, experience and final exchange of product which the buyer goes through the whole experience. The project reflects on these aspects, by bringing and applying such to improve the experience of society. Looking back at the Greek Agora, Roman Forum (Markets of Trajan), old market squares, these places have the nature of place of exchange of money, skill, and knowledge. Towns and cities have been provided to have significant civic roles.

Potential locations for the new nodes, which include buildings and quality green spaces
The introduction of new connections allowing permeability and access from all the sides, with visual vistas that extent all the way across the river to the other side of Birkenhead.
Showing how the new nodes could fit together on a potential design scheme
Densification of the area which will provide a more static and friendly atmosphere. The scheme is mostly concentrating on the river/docks side, which will then kick off the regeneration of the whole Dingle in the future.
Potential phasing of construction and time-scale. 2020 Portfolio Rone Deguzman

LIVE PROJECT The Royal Standard, Bootle
46
Rone Deguzman 2020 Portfolio
BRIEF The Royal Standard are looking to expand their facilities and broaden the areas of Liverpool that the charity covers. They have recently been offered the former M&S outlet which is located within the Strand Shopping Centre, Bootle. The shopping centre is currently a prime area for redevelopment with easy access to cheap building materials in surrounding scrapyards and new creative industries in areas like Liverpool 10 Street. For this design proposal, two student architecture groups have come together to design a low cost, cohesive interior and exterior scheme for The Royal Standard arts charity.

GROUP URBAN DESIGN PROJECT 1 Re-stitching The Community
82
Rone Deguzman 2020 Portfolio
BRIEF The introduction of new, modern social housing will create an improved community within the peninsula. The proposal will re-stitch the existing context, creating connections between the local amenities. This will encourage usability of the nearby facilities and businesses in the area, such as the waterfront, park, shopping district, football pitch and the primary school. Situated beside two main transport routes, the addition of bars/restaurants, canal decking and a community centre will give a new sense of life to the local community.

INDIVIDUAL URBAN DESIGN PROJECT 2 Re-stitching The Community
88
Rone Deguzman 2020 Portfolio
BRIEF As part of the group urban design project. Individually, we were given the task to further develop the massing in detail, a specific part within the masteplan. Therefore, for this project I will further design in detail one of the courtyard in the masterplan massing. The aim for this design is to introduce several programme spaces such as, a children play area, communal growing space and fire pit which are all sunken below ground. Collectively, these can help answer how the proposed residential blocks that surround the open space of courtyard can be used with the aim to promote community engagement within the courtyard.
