The concept of this project was to was to focus on the effects of climate change and how they are affecting our planet, natural and sustainable materials were used in the climate change response. the programme within the building is lab space, classroom, librarby, cafe, exhibition space , various courtyards and lecture theatre. The programme is study climate change and the effects on ouroceans and then to help teaxch the public about these issues and how to help.

Structural axonometric To follow the enviromantal theme of this project i decided to use sustainable and locally souced mateials with this project to tyr and reduce the embodied energy of the project . cladding: accoya pine wood - this is a massively sustainable and durable wood that lasts a long time structure- glulam beams pile foundations CLT flooring marine grade alluminium roofing

Experimental Design: Elements and energies
For the experimental design project i decided to design a spa space beside crosby lake in liverpool. the buildign was based around ice and the forms it creates. i rorignated from some models made out of ice i created. this lead me onto cretaeing a space that had overhanging forms and levels.

Technical study
My design had two seperate types of materiality and structure in the building. The lower floor was formed using structure concrete walls with various heatign methods inside the walls and floor to keep the spa at a comfortable temperature . Where as the upper floor was a made from a structural steel framework, this was due to the amount of windows on the second floor and the change in facade material. i created various physcial models and digitals ones along side drawings to explain the strutcure.

Urban design project The first part of the project was a group strategy to create and urban space within liverpools fabric district. As a group we decided to create a sunken ampitheatre besides gildart street. The ampitheatre ould be host to many different events liek theatre productions, cinema events and art instilations. Also beside the ampithetre was a perminent market places for the local temprary market stalls ont the square near.

Individual spatial design
During the individual spatial deisgn i redesigned the theatre space and gretae a garden area sunken into the ground with the theatre space. surroung this space there were various suspended gardens as you walk down into the sunken square space.

A place for crafting: shoe makers workshop

The lower ground level was the shoe workshop that was seperate from the public. the first floor was the shop where customers could get their shoes fitted. The second floor was where the craftsman would live.
