About Me I’m a confident 21 years old, graduating with a bachelors in architecture, who has always been fascinated by the intimate relationship of architecture and the human condition. After a semester studying abroad in Hungary, I’m positive about working internationally to enrich me, both personally and professionally. Now I’m looking forward to work as an architectural assistant to broaden my architectural perspectives and graphical skills. I’m a highly active person with the ability to work as a collective or individually, skills developed through my hobbies, sports and activities. I consider myself very conscious, with clarity I’m attentive and creative. Encounters with the unknown are used as ideas and cues for design. Having an open mind has also led to my greatest travels and reading. ii

LJMU’s performing arts complex built on the theme of suspension and the integration of neighbouring LJMU buildings and student congested areas. Emphasised on integration and new encounters to create energy and life outside of the studios. Transparency is used to expose something, here the phenomenon of the programme being hung and displayed is shown off through another phenomenon of the wrapped envelope and being able to peer inside, the rooms seem to float. Exposure of what’s inside invokes the feeling of opening a present, the mystery and fascination that comes with it. Private and public realms are clear and the main entrance for the building is exaggerated by the huge atrium. the material language is conveyed through the day as the moving sun creates structural qualities and shadows creating a multi-sensory surreal experience.

Designing in the flood prone region Hebden bridge, a weather station is intended to host research events, examine the climate and execute specialised teaching. Conservation and ideas of sustainability fuelled this project, having deep rooted connections to the existing surrounding natural and built environment.

Sculptural architecture, connecting with its existing context naturally ignites the sense of belonging. Sitting amongst the steep Yorkshire hillside overlooking Hebden Bridge, the duel curvature form follows the hills contour, the motivation was inspired by clams natural ability to cleanse and purify the ocean, as this weather station has similar motives. The structural support is celebrated, displayed as a raw organ, the ribs of the structure, the possibilities of timber construction is a thing to be marvelled. Using the continuous flowing form of the

wrapped building, the wind can easily pass through the building, using the prominent south-western winds to my advantage by manipulating the roof to guide the wind around the building, and through it for naturally ventilation.

The living room for Liverpool is the concept that this building serves in, an urban realm serving as specialised markets for the artisans crafting in the studios, the urban space holds strong contextural values, connecting to the history of the fabric district.

As fabric folds onto itself so does this building, inspired by the textile and fabric business the area is named from. Oriented on the edge of the fabric district the folded structure serves as a threshold between the residential housing and businesses.

ARCIFILM

Places of worship can vary in all dimensions, to create a narrative for a short film begun by de-constructing what it is that makes a temple. Understanding the structural qualities that make space and the philosophy of construction, I found particular inspiration through eastern culture.

To engage the existentialist mind through moving picture was an interesting experiment, following the senses to decipher what space is, and the threshold of space being defined by the mind, consciousness of this conscious would lead users for a profound experience of self. The short film is of ones journey towards salvation. The five spikes emerging above the shrine creates a beacon calling towards the gods. In Japanese culture there is a belief that gods reside in the mountains, to be able to step into the mountain to gather the energy of these gods should prove a moving and enlightening event.
