WELCOME TO DONCASTER RACECOURSE

We would like to thank our sponsor AGM Safety Ltd. for their generous support of today’s fixture

There are 7 races on the card today and our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the Parade Ring at around 1:00pm to run through the racecard with you and hopefully pick you out some winners!

Stephanie Hirst is one of the UK’s most loved broadcasting stars, playing at the highest level behind the mic, along with DJ’ing live in some of the UK’s biggest venues! She’s presented for BBC Breakfast, ITV’s Lorraine and is regularly seen on Jeremy Vine on 5, along with a recent appearance on Loose Women. Starting her radio career aged 12 by making tea for DJ’s, she eventually secured a slot on the overnight show at age 16 This took her on an unbelievable journey hosting some of the biggest commercial radio shows in the UK, including the national Sunday Top 40 chart show ‘Hit40Uk’ for 3 years, as well as with interviewing some of the world’s biggest stars. Along with her first love of radio, she now dedicates a large amount of her time public speaking and sharing her ‘Believe Achieve’ keynote message. Stephanie Hirst can be heard on Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Radio. With over 40 years in the business, Birmingham Reggae and Pop Band UB40 have notched up more than 50 singles in the UK and sold over 70 million records worldwide. 2021 saw the retirement of lead-singer and long-time member Duncan Campbell, and following this the band announced Matt Doyle as their new lead singer Doyle will already be familiar to many UB40 fans after KIOKO opened for UB40 at The Royal Albert Hall in May 2018, before supporting them on their UK tour later that year and their European tour in 2019 UB40’s classics such as ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘Kingston Town’ and ‘Homely Girl’ will have you dancing the night away

And don’t miss Clean Bandit Live After Racing tomorrow! Gates open at 4:20pm with Clean Bandit taking to the stage after racing at around 9:15pm Tickets are still on sale!

TIMEFORMVIEWImpressive when scoring by a wide margin on his debut at Nottingham and had no trouble following up in 10.2f novice at Newcastle. Took form to another level when narrow winner of Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot. Not disgraced back down in trip when fourth in Grand Prix de Paris and this test will suit.

Star Ratings Explained

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:

HHHHH Selected to win the race.

HHHHI Good chance of being placed.

HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims

HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.

HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

Intergalacticat took a step forward when third in aYarmouth handicap in April and will be a big threat if responding well to the first-time cheekpieces, while Ala Kaifi should also have a part to play.

Not much to choose between PLEDGEOFALLEGIANCE and Campaign Trail on paper, the verdict narrowly going towards Sir Mark Prescott’s gelding, who showed a willing attitude in making all to win at Redcar last time. CampaignTrail himself is unexposed as a stayer and appeals as one who is certain to progress over longer distances, with the pair clear of Double Oban in order of preference here.
