Good afternoon and welcome to Lingfield Park Resort, where today we are delighted to host the first fixture here of the 10th All-Weather Championship Series
We are proud to be one of the hosts of this fantastic Series, which aims to improve the quality and reputation of All-Weather racing and encourage our Owners and Trainers to keep their horses on home soil during the winter months.
It was fantastic to see the launch of this year’s Championship at our sister course, Newcastle, earlier this month Never Just A Dream continued his 100 per cent record on the all-weather and as a Fast-Track Qualifier winner, earned himself a guaranteed start in the £150,000 Three-Year-Old Championship on Finals Day at the same course.
A big thank you to our sponsors today, BetUK, Spreadex Sports and Talksport who are sponsoring the entire AWC Series.
Today, we have two exciting Listed races, The talkSport EBF River Eden Fillies Stakes and The talkSport EBF Fleur De Lys Stakes which is an All Weather Championships Fast Track Qualifier. Last year’s winners were the William Haggas trained Sea La Rosa and the Simon & Ed Crisford trained Maamora
Looking ahead, we have a host of exciting fixtures coming up including the launch of our National Hunt season on November 8th and the celebrated BetUk Churchill & Golden Rose Stakes on November 12th You can get tickets for both via our website: https://www. lingfieldpark.co.uk/whats-on
If you are looking for something to do when we are not racing, why not don your best fancy-dress for our Wizard and Witches-themed Fireworks Night on Saturday November 5th As well as the musical firework show and bonfire, there are funfair rides, sidestalls and an interactive show in the Pavilion particularly suitable for our younger audience. Tickets for this are available here: Wizards and Witches Fireworks Night Whats On | Lingfield Park.
Season 10 of the All-Weather Championships runs from Tuesday, October 18, 2022, and culminates with All-Weather Championships Finals Day at Newcastle on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 and the Vase Day here at Lingfield Park.
The six championship categories are:
*Three-Year-Olds sponsored by News UK 6f Final
*Fillies & Mares sponsored by News UK 7f Final
*Mile sponsored by Spreadex Sports 1m Final
*Sprint sponsored by BetUK 6f Final

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps
rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed
