Pleasant Hill Memorial Day Parade Details The Pleasant Hill Memorial Day Parade will take place Monday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. Line-up will begin at 9:30 at the Newton School parking lot. The parade will proceed from the school to the monument, where a brief wreath-laying will take place before proceeding to the cemetery for the Memorial Day ceremony. 2021 OhiO Bird Quest At Brukner Nature Center May 16 Come to BNC Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m., for a presentation by Tom Hissong. “Birds, birds, birds... everywhere we looked we enjoyed watching and counting Ohio’s birds!” Hissong, a retired Aullwood Audubon Center naturalist, took off on an exciting year-long quest to see as many species of birds in Ohio in one year (2021) as he could find! Starting when snow and ice covered the landscape, he journeyed through spring, summer, and fall to look for the common and uncommon species of birds to add to his list. Susie Fox Spitler has generously allowed the library to showcase her collection of foxes this month. Mrs. Spitler’s family has lived in the Tipp City area since the 1800’s. She moved to Ludlow Falls when she was married in 1964. When Paisley and Lola McCarroll learned that Susie’s maiden name was Fox, they began looking for fox items and cards to give to her as gifts. As their enthusiasm grew, so did Susie’s, and before she knew it, her collection had grown larger than she realized. These foxes will be on display until the end of the month. Stop in and brighten your day!
